Games suitable for 3yo?

I really like the idea of buying a game for us all to play at Christmas, as it's just our family on the day. But what could a 3yo get involved in? So far dh has suggested pop up pirates...any other ideas?

baking I never knew that Lego do games now! That looks quite fun, though I'd have to wrestle the sheep from my 7 month old no doubt... Have you got that one? Would a three year old understand the rules?
Even ds gets bored with shopping list halfway through!

It says it's for 5+ but my DD got Penguin Pile Up last Christmas when she was 3 and totally loves it, and plays it with everyone from similar age cousins to my 85 year old nan.

I was just about to suggest Hungry Hippos , my 3 year old loves it. She also likes Connect 4, Buckaroo and matching card games/pairs.

UNO? My dd aged 2 can join in with that! And tiddly winks. Having said that we play logo with dd's and just read pretend questions that we make up do they are joining in but it is more fun for us! Rapidough or cherades (sp??) pictionary?? Could all be 'tweaked' for a 3 year old

Loopin' Louie, which is also fun for grown ups, especially once reflexes have bren slightly dulled by alcohol.

Tummy Ache from Orchard Games is simple and good fun.

Dd (3 at Christmas) likes Greedy Gorilla (and Orchard Game), Hungry Hippos, Buckaroo, Pop Up Pirate and we have a giant snakes and ladders which she is just starting to "get". She also whoops my arse at Pairs!

Haba's cooperative game Orchard (Obstgarten in German) would probably be my first recommendation. It's an absolutely beautiful game, perfectly playable for a 3yo and some excitement for all. My dcs are now 6 and 9 but still get it out for nostalgic reasons now and then!

Otherwise, Duck Duck Bruce is a wonderful simple card game from Gamewright. It was the first game that was really enjoyable for us all as a family when my DD was 3 and DS was 6. Finally, I have seen the game Max recommended over and over again for young children. It's quite a simple/cheap production, but supposed to be very fun. It's cooperative as well, I think that works well for this age group:

Yes we have lego shave a sheep and it's very simple. Roll the dice and either collect 'wool', shear the sheep to store it, swap sheep with another player or send the wolf to steal some. Winner is the person with the most wool at the end. Short game 10-15mins.

Whatever Next is a Galt Game that is good fun for all the family. You have to do things like stand on one leg til your next turn or pretend to be a robot.

I agree with the Orchard games suggestion. Tesco had a bunch of them for £4.50 earlier this week.

Maisy's Colourful Counting Game is another good one.
And tiddlywinks - we found an old set in a holiday cottage we stayed in this year and played with it loads.
We've got loads of Orchard Games now, after they were kindly recommended to me on here, and we love them all, especially the Spotty Dogs game and the Flower Pot game. The only one we don't love is Shopping List - each game of it seems to last 5000000 years. We have never actually played one through to the end. Perhaps we have spectacularly poor memories.
