Morning All,

Looking to expand our marble run. Any ideas if the Marbelous brand or any other is compatible with Galt?

Thanks in advance

Hi cake addict.

Trawled the web but can't find a definitive answer. I think I'm going to chance the Marbulous brand on Amazon. Its quite cheap compared to Galt and I think it looks the same. There is a remark in a review of it on US Amazon that suggests they are compatible.

Fingers crossed!

Which version of the Galt one do you have? I can't help with other makes but we originally had the 'Super' one and last year upgraded it by adding the 'Mega' which has been a huge hit as it had loads of extra bits and has allowed for countless new ways of building.

Ps the Mega one went down to about £23 around this time last year on amazon. Not sure if they follow a pattern but it's worth tracking for a while.

I'm sorry I have no idea but want to say 'THANK YOU'!! I have really been struggling to think of what to get for DD2, saw your thread title and thought 'aha!'. Perfect for her Smile

Tikkabillajive - that would be the sensible option, but the hunt for a bargain has me consumed Grin

The 100 piece Galt mega set is currently 27.25 on amazon while the 200 piece Marbulous set is 27.23........

You're welcome petitdonkey! It's a really great toy.

Ok. After much soul searching and the fact that I just can't handle the look of judgment on my postman's face if I get another delivery from Amazon, I've decided to go with the Galt Mega and buy it in the nearest big toy shop to me.

Sigh.

Thanks, we are in the same boat - have the super, so I think the mega is probably the best bet. The marbulous looks good, but I'm not sure I want to risk it not being compatible. It's a great toy - we got it when DS was 3 or 4, and built the runs to start with. He's now 7 and it's having a resurgence and he likes designing his own runs, and I think something bigger would work better. His 4 (nearly 5) yo brother also loves it, we have definitely had our money's worth!

UPDATE:

At the very last minute I chose the Marbulous - it arrived to day and it is EXACTLY the same as Galt so if any one hasn't bought already the 220 piece Marbulous set is the same price as the 100 piece Galt set - is a no-brainer folks Grin
