What are you planning to wear this Christmas?

I have to wear red. And something sparkly. I am cooking so it will need to be cool enough for the kitchen and comfortable enough for the post dinner bulge!
I have an m and s wine red long 3/4 sleeve jumper dress which I'll probably bling up with a statement necklace.
The month of dec there will be various Christmas jumpers.

Something warm! DS is getting a motorbike so I suspect we'll be outdoors most of the day!

Christmas pjs and maybe a red snugly fleece if I can find one. Want to be warm and cosy.

Interesting. Does anyone put on a maxi dress? Heels? Sequins? Spanx? The magazines are FULL of this every year.

I can't decide if I'm woeful, or worse, sensible? I mean jeepers am I (intake of breath...) old...?

Would something yoga / leisure like work...? Like wotsa chops in "Scandal"? She always coordinates with wine. That would suit me....?!

I'd like to stay in pjs/onesie but can't really with visitors coming!

Maybe a Christmassy jumper and skinny jeans.

Pyjamas as much as possible. I need the elasticated waist, and a pattern that doesn't show up the dinner medals.

Well if Cod was still around I would say ... Oh God what were those things she hated.

Oh yes, lounge pants or something like that, we used to post it just to wind her up... Grin

Christmas jumper and skinnies. I need to be comfy as we're hosting and I'll be sat on the floor most of the day due to guests being on the sofas.

My pyjamas. DH is cooking Beef Wellington and we'll probably watch a movie or game of ice hockey while we eat.

It's what we've done the last 3 years and love it. My IL's live in Lanzarote, my Dad and StepMum live about 300 miles from us and we always go to an ice hockey game on Boxing Day so not practical to go to them.

They always have a houseful of StepMum's family at Christmas which doesn't suit us, so even more reason to use the hockey as an excuse - not that we have to justify ourselves to anyone.

Love all these replies. Quite envious of the lucky ones who get to wear pjs all day. I will have new christmas pjs for the morning but then will have guests from 11am including a 99yr old so will need to be decent.
Sparkly black jeggings! Oooh where can I get me some of them?
I must say I do love the excuse for a bit of glitter. It's the only day I wear it. Glitter hairspray, bit of Highbeam, sparkly eyeshadow. I can go a bit OTT.

last year I wore a black and white floral stretchy skirt, black tights and white fluffy jumper. was v comfy but looked glam.
I'm thinking a wine coloured lacy skater dress this year.

Jeans and a tee shirt and flip flops / bare feet probably, it's always boiling in our house on Christmas Day with the oven being on all day.

candy I got mine from Next. If you type sparkle leggings in the search bar on the website they should come up (can't do links sorry) Although they are called leggings they are thick and oh so comfy. I also have bought some metallic skinny jeans from Miss Selfridge - never have enough sparkle! (The ones from next are best for ultimate sparkle!)

A few years back when we were spending Christmas Day at the in-laws I was caught on the hop by MIL and SIL. The usual jumper and jeans look had ben replaced by evening wear!

Seriously! Dresses and heels. Luckily, I was wearing a black all sequined t shirt. So in the photos I look like the one going to Oscars rather than them.

I stick to this combo now, fancy top and comfy jeans/other style bottom half.

I try to make some kind of effort though as there's usually photos taken and I want history to judge me kindly.

Oh goteasy I once rocked a velvet maxi very glam dress for an at home New Years Day party. Everyone else was practically in trackies.

Pyjamas until I start cooking seriously (although we are planning on spreading out dinner to the whole day - starter around noon, main after the queen, pudding before Doctor Who as otherwise the boys get too full).

Then probaby some one of my Boden cropped bistro pants with a lightweight top rather than anything too warm.
