Dolls House advice

I want to get DD1 a dolls house but not sure what size. The Asda one is lovely (and cheap) but wouldn't a barbie size one last longer? I haven't found a barbie size one that's as nice as the Asda one though. Any advice? DD is 4

Ive gone for a wooden one, similar to the Asda one, however I am stocking it with Playmobil people.and furniture in the hope that it will last longer. At least of she outgrows the dolls house we will then have the Playmobil for a few more years.

Have you seen the Toys r us one?

I've had a wooden one from asda for about 6 years. My dd uses it for sylvanians, we have another much more expensive wooden dolls house as well which looks amazing but is played with no more than the cheap one

The wooden one from Asda looks really good and is great value.

Check out second hand shops for dolls house bargains. I bought a plain wooden one for about £15 and painted it.

I bet Amazon or ebay would have good deals as well.

Another option would be to make a dolls house from a bookcase; there are some great pics/ instructions on Pinterest.

That KidKraft one looks good. I'm thinking it would last longer than the Asda one. Not as pretty but DD would probably love it (she has no taste!).

The idea of creating one myself from a bookshelf is lovely, but then I look at the pumpkin I carved and think 'maybe not'.
