stocking fillers for older boys (10yo)

I pride myself in being an excellent stocking buyer! However, last year I had a last minute panic on Christmas eve that Ds was not up to standard and I rushed into town and spent a silly amount on things i could have got cheaper if i had shopped smarter earlier- rubiks cube etc.

Can you share what have been hits with your boys? Happy to spend up to £10 on a few decent items like story cds or card game etc Have got him a cool torch and he'll get some quirky boxers or socks in there too... He's not quite at the lynx stage yet.

I always cheat and get a pre filled stocking for £20 from Hawkins bizarre. They do have some cool quirky stocking ideas and are online if you don't have a shop local to you.

I don't do a stocking but do get some small bits to add to his presents.

Last year I did a watch, slipper socks, astronaut food, books, cinema and bowling vouchers.

I always get mine (10 and 8 this year!)

A tiny metal bottle of coke with proper bottle tops (they don't get coke throughout the year really)

A tiny box of roses or miniature heroes or similar

Some silly toys. Like windup things to race, silly putty, fart noise makers, primatial jokes.

A bottle of bubble bath (matey atm but will swap to a more grow up brand when they hit their teens)

Little laser pens

This year I'll do a £10 voucher for their favourite milkshake shop in town.

I love doing stockings too. I do my sisters children for her. My nephew will be 10 in a couple of weeks and is really difficult to buy for. Girls of any age are easy.

Sweets - my nephew would be over the moon if his stocking was filled with sweets.

He will be getting:

Paint by numbers - £3 from sports direct.

Joke/magic book.

A meccano type vehicle.

Lynx set - deodorant and shower gel. Normally available in December, but wait til it goes down to £3. It will!!!

Drinks bottle.

Lego - I read on another thread that the daily mail will be doing the free Lego in September.

I've just had a look at aliexpress, never heard of it before. It looks great. I have 2 MC obsessed dds so I will be ordering from them. Not now, but in plenty of time for Christmas! I can't do any Christmas purchasing until November at the earliest, but I like to have the ideas ready

So far probably giving my nearly 10 yr old (have 3 boys) a crystal mining set from amazon, pin art thing that leaves impression of your hand etc, laser torch pen, fruity radox shower gel (they love those) and thinking of a pack of water balloons but remember the mess from last time lol

Aaarrgh! Stockings. My children's favourite part of Christmas and still insist they have to have them. They are now 19 and 22 - and I really have run out of ideas.

Aubreye - how on earth do you get a football to fit in a stocking? We use ski socks, which are quite large and stretchy, but no way would a football fit

Annuals are often included too, even though they don't fit. They are stood next to the stocking.

Come to the Christmas bargains thread, lots of fab ideas on there. My dd2 will be 10 by Xmas, I've got her finger lights, a bike wheel light, a balloon helicopter, mouldable balloon thing all from amazon and all less than £1 delivered.

Some of the other stuff is quite girl specific (nail varnish, bracelet, lip balm ) but every year we have the Avon Xmas bubble bath, a lush bath bomb (you can get father Xmas shaped ones etc so not too girls) a magic face cloth, chocolate coins and a Lindt Santa.
