Am I mad?

I think father christmas should bring pants/socks and PJ every year for our DT, my dh doesn't think they are presents iyswim? Father christmas also brings one present that they really want and have asked for. Dh and I buy everything else and the main present.

Also DT are getting too big for their toddler beds - are nice big boys acceptable main christmas presents? They don't really want for anything and I am against buying stuff for the sake of it.

If not - what would you get a 5 year old boy for a main present - they have tablets and we have family games consoles already.

Father Christmas always brings socks and underwear in our house. Also pyjamas. He brings things that are needed as well as new toys.
My five year old DS loves his hex bugs and marble runs.

Mine get toys. Things that they can play with like a farm, skateboard, train set, schleich animals, playmobil, roller skates, vets kit, lego, toy kitchen, bike.

They also get practical stuff like clothes but my main aim is to give them something that can play with and both enjoy and keep them busy for the next year at the same time.

father christmas and DH and I also buy toys - and a marble run is a good idea - I wasn't sure if they were too old for that?

They still have lots of things from their birthday thats not been played with so I'm already dreading the filling the house with more stuff.

Can I advise against the micro sets - they had the planes and cars ones - very poor quality and broke within days.

Oh yes a marble run. My dd got one for Christmas last year when she was seven and it's really good fun.

Never too old for a marble run! The feats of engineering that take place in my lounge are wondrous to behold. One day he will be designing fairground rides.
