Christmas

Right. I want to be all done by December 1st....

I work in retail. The last 2 years have involved mad dashes round town after working all day with some horrible people taking out their Christmas woes on you and spending 73 billion hours waiting in queues and trying to avoid the crowds!

So I want to be organised by the first, nothing left to buy and only wrapping and decorating to worry about.

Anyone else up for the challenge?

That sounds brilliant - I always aim to get everything done in November but I still end up rushing on Christmas Eve Blush

How far have you got?

Report
BunnyPotter · 15/08/2014 19:49

Ooh yes! I also want all my decorations prepared by then too (I like making things, but don't have time any more!).
Think we'll manage?!

I'm definitely up for the challenge! I always have good intentions of being organised but I can never seem to get it together in time for December- there's always something! Determined to be done and dusted by 1st Dec this year Grin

Here too.
I have DS birthday in December and I'm on the waiting list for gallbladder surgery (at last) which will be about mid Nov- Dec.

So I need to fit in all my present buying, DS birthday presents and whatever he wants to do, do lists for food, have surgery and recover, and do all our pre-planned outings.

Cracks knuckles. Ready for challenge.

And I predict, this winter will be a blighter .

Me please! :)

I've already started shopping and have got most of the things for my DD and my side of the family. Just a few bits for everyone and DP left. Shame DP is always the hardest really! :P

Me too! I'm a good 50% of the way, but unfortunately I've got all the awkward ones still to get.

Ooh I'm almost done and wrapped Shock I've also done all the family birthdays, they start at the end of September and finish at the beginning of February. I'm the only one outside of that, so as soon as my birthday is over, I start shopping. This year, I'm hosting Xmas for the first time, so I want to be wrapped as well, just in case there are any issues nearer the time.

Wow that's impressive.
70 what makes you think it'll be a bad winter out of interest?
So far I have got a 5 year Christmas organiser and done some research. I need to get organised though. Have family birthdays too. I'm always afraid to start so early in case something better comes along later.

I have the same goal. I don't mind if I have decided on a couple of gifts and need to wait on my December wage (mid month) to finalise, but they would be ordered online or reserved for pick up. But I need to know its all in hand by 1st so I can enjoy the month.

Wow loads of us in!

I'm part way through, dd is sorted with regards to what I'm getting her, just gotta go get the last few bits

His dad is sorted but no idea for his mom or brother

I've ordered a few bits for friends, so just waiting on those!

I haven't started yet but always like to be finished by the 1st December so I can enjoy the Christmas build-up instead of getting stressed out in busy shops. I find the weekends in December just 'disappear' between Christmas parties and get togethers, pantomimes, visiting Santa, festive outings etc so would not want to add shopping into the mix!! Can't wait!!

Rowboat it just feels really autumney right now.
The past 2 years we've gone away at the August Bank Holiday, I was wearing a skirt and sandles for the 2am drive (and warm)

It's Baltic out there now Shock and the garden feels like it's ckosing up shop now.

DD and I went to Bluewater today, after getting 3-4 bags I was "grrrrr, I am not relishing the Christmas Shopping"

Can I join? I also work in retail and have the added pressure that all the adult presents on my side of the family have to be home made Grin

So far I have sorted the DC's stockings except the chocolate, bought a few presents, worked out what I am making and bought in the supplies to make them.

I have DD's advent calendar but need to get one for DS.

Ooh I'm in! I've been super organized!

I've downloaded a gift list app on my phone that you can "tick" off when you buy things! Set a day once a week where you order a present and it soon adds up. I get some tax credits every Wednesday so on that day I check my list and order one thing off amazon and stash it under the bed. Also with the groceries I've been buying a bottle of wine every week for the past four (I give at least 3 as gifts every year without fail) and because it only adds on a few pounds to the shopping I've barely noticed but the list is getting ticked!

So far I have a few things on my ebay watch list. I am waiting form another double nectar points weekend before I buy.
