I'm glad to hear it's awesome. Grin I'm slightly worried that it's 12+ as DS is only 9 yo, but he's very good at Lego so I think it'll be ok so long as he takes it slowly.

OMG... maybe I shouldn't be encouraging this LEGO business with my 5yr old Shock

DS2 had it and after he had it a while he sold it on ebay for almost what we payed for it. That's the good thing about a lot of lego it holds or even goes up in value.

Agree, keep the box and the instructions and bag it up carefully when dissembling it.

My DS loves Lego Star Wars but no way would I spend this much on a Christmas pressie.....Lego Star Wars stuff is far far too overpriced. DS has a limit of £150 and I think that is a lot.

If your DS is Lego mad and liable to look after it then eventually it will go up in value.....especially any hard to find Lego figures which come with it.

Bet his face will be a picture on Xmas morning though ....so worth it.

hahha, DS tried to save up for the DStar but lost the will. His mate got it for Xmas around the same time (family has a 2nd home in Florida).

Mind, DS has been selling off his old Lego Star Wars collection over last 8 months & is making a fortune, getting his money back certainly. (I owe him £250 right now & I don't want him to blow it on computer plug in thingies Xmas Angry ).

Other lego sets not holding value so well, mind (yes we are selling loads).

DS has the Lego Star Wars Jabba's Palace this year....and that was well over £80! Have been saving all year for Xmas and I know he will love it.

I am hiding the Lego catalogue with the Death Star in though Grin

The super star destroyer is even more expensive!

Shhh qazxc! Don't let DS hear you, or he will want both. (How do you pronounce your name btw? I bet it's one of those 'interesting' spellings for a completely normal name like Jane. Wink)

It's brilliant. One of the best things I've ever bought. It takes AAAGGGEESS to put together and there loads of little touches and little mini constructions you need to add to the final thing. I loved it and wish I could put another one together.

My boss bought this for his son and said it worked out to be great value as it took them about 7 months to put together.

It lives in its own room (and so it should for £400).

Seven months on one Lego project.

He had better bloody well remember this fondly when he's an adult.
