Where might I find a cheap dolly that'll do as a diy elf? (I can make a little elf suit out of odds and ends lying around)

Aw, shucks Blush

Just seen they are out of stock in my local store, but they have them in one not too far away. I've set up an email alert when back in though. Meant to go up there this week but have been ill so couldn't. I hope I can get one for Sunday!

Unfortunately not Elf but I was just wondering if any of the poundshops maybe sell man dolls....have seen barbie types in them occasionally so might nip in first thing before going to the sorting office.

Quite annyoyed at myself forgetting tbh, had him in my amazon basket but 'saved for later' to order one of my girls a christmas present and forgot to replace!

Other ideas could be a robin hood toy or puppet? Our local independant toy shop has some lovely puppet and things.

Or a tatty teddy elf www.amazon.co.uk/Tatty-Christmas-T-shirt-Teddy-Plush/dp/B00FQQ7UX8/ref=sr_1_25?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1385587337&sr=1-25&keywords=elf&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21

A puppet might do the job, I'll wander further than Poundland/world and the sorting office in the morning and see what I can find...local toy shops are a bit shit tbh; there's Argos, ToyTown and ToysRUs is a bus ride away.

Oh, wilko too....they sometimes have barbie type dolls, wonder if they might have a man.

Oooooor, I could be a complete genius & use my brain and just do a lady elf with a quid shop doll some odd scraps of fabric! That took a lot of bloody getting to Grin Blush

I got a kind of santa dressed in green from the local garden centre. Am going to trim it's beard and claim that he's done movember like daddy!

Have you checked ebay?

There seem to be quite a few green/red wee friends on there.

Am just off to town now so will check Poundshops and Wilko for a suitable dolly, if no joy then I'll have a look on ebay when I get home.

found some odd scraps of red/green fabric this morning to make an outfit from & might see if I can find some tiny beads and a scrap of ribbon for buttons and a belt Grin

if you cant find one.. i would imagin a snowman, reindeer would work just as well.. or even a little santa..it could be santas little brother?

lucysmam · 28/11/2013 10:07

Funny you should say that wondering, I did very nearly pick up a little santa in Poundland before spying their barbie type dollies. I got one of those and a giant red/green stocking so she can play dress up.

I'm on the hunt for a letter now...think google might be my friend for this one Smile

I should clarify....am going to cut up the stocking to make elf clothes...not dress her up in a giant stocking
