Porcini mushrooms would be nice to receive in a hamper, since they are quite expensive, you could throw in some arborio rice to go with them.

Have to ask though, what on earth is bacon jam?

Some posh infused olive oil
dried chillies (if they like spicy stuff, that is!)
chocolates

Posh dried pasta in a really crazy shape?

Ooh weird pasta is a good idea, we picked up some spinach pasta from Waitrose which was really nice.

Other ideas coming to mind... some posh tea or coffee.

Truffles in oil, sundried tomatoes, pesto, canned tapenade or vine leaves (dolma), tomato chutney, sambal, herbs & spices (posh things like saffron).

Maybe some useful utensils like a cheese slicer, garlic press, potato ricer.

What's your budget like?

Clicked on the thread to say bacon jam but you beat me to it! Bacon & maple popcorn is pretty amazing too! Some posh chocolate sauce (Heston at Waitrose does a really dark one with a coffee hint) or some posh biccies, someone mentioned coffee shortbread from waitrose on another thread earlier, quite fancy that.

I've only realised since last night you can flavour your own olives, they will be going in my hampers just need to experiment to see what combos I like the most.
