Happyland is the best toy any child of 2 can have IMO. We had the school, house, post office, and other bits when my dcs were little and they were played with daily until past their 5th birthdays. I've packed them away for visiting little ones now. Elc often have the sets reduced and there are loads more sets now than when mine were younger. I really like the pirate ship, the fairy houses and the dinosaur stuff.
A really good introduction to imaginative play.

My dds loved their play kitchen at that age, and also a toy farm.

I have bought the happyland airport, post office, farm, boot and cottage along with the storage box to be split for her birthday/chritmas. She already has the boot. She loves happyland, even my eldest (7) plays with it.
A friend has given us the IKEA kitchen so I'm going to buy the utensils etc to go with that. I am going to get some toy food and a tea set to to go with it x

My youngest dd has just turned 2. Her favourite things are her toy kitchen and teaset, dolls house, duplo, happyland and peppa pig playsets. She also got a scooter for her birthday that she loves and is just beginning to get the hang of.

For Christmas she's getting the little people princess castle, doc macstuffins dress up and doctors bag and the my little pony train set.

Oh and I am not getting any more ride ons she got tons last year! I am getting her a balance bike for her birthday though. Do you think she's too young for one? I was thinking she'll probably be ready for it late spring/early summer.

Ooh I will take a look at the My little pony train set, she'd love that.
My mum has also got her a play house and an easel.

Does she like cars? If so, and if you don't have any road track, this is great. You can make loads of different layouts and it's good quality.

Orchard toys have also brought out a farm playmat which is compatible so you can make a whole town :)

I got my almost 2 year old dd the happyland boot last Christmas, but she quickly lost interest when she realised she was too big to go down the tongue slide herself.

The ikea kitchen however was a great success for her second birthday. She plays with it almost daily.

We got our DS a scooter for his 2nd birthday a couple of weeks ago and he is just able to reach the handle and scoot very slowly around the house. We figured he'll grow into it by summer for outside play then.

I'm thinking of getting him a mini trampoline for christmas as he has so much energy to burn off most days and loves them whenever he gets a chance to play on one. DH not so convinced.

We got dd1 a balance bike for her 2nd birthday, she was given a cheap scooter by another relative. She wasn't overly impressed with the balance.bike at first, but picked it up at 2.4 and loved it. She liked the scooter straight away, but got frustrated scooting any distance as it was heavy and difficult to control. We got her a mini micro scooter at 2.5 and she loves it and goes really fast (although a scoot n pull strap is a real asset for pulling her home when tired).

If you want a balance bike then the metal ones are generally lighter than the wooden ones, so easier for little ones. We got a Puky bike, as they have one that can be adjusted for little legs.

I would say happy land too Grin I think I enjoy it more than the kids! !

but the micro scooter u can get an attachment seat for younger ones till they can scoot. not personally used it but a friend has it and looks great Grin

play guitar, musical instruments, books - particularly magnet or fuzzy felt ones. hand/finger puppets, tea set and if u haven't got them tomy hide n squeak eggs are a must - best loved toy we have Grin
