Christmas

OK we've done books, now what about DVDs? What are you getting?

A rather horrific amount here... DVDs are an addiction for myself and DH Blush

Definitely Monsters University, Despicable Me 2, Planes, The Croods.

Possibly Turbo and Cloudy 2 if they are out by then.

Room on the Broom for Xmas eve - we always get the previous year's JD film at Xmas but I thought it might spread the excitement a little to watch the night before, and it's a short and reasonably gentle DVD. On that note, does anyone know if there's a new one on telly this year?

So many others I'm tempted by - really into studio ghibli ATM and also there's lots of stuff I am desperate to share with DCs from my own childhood - cartoons like CatDog, Rugrats and Hey Arnold :o and the first two Beethoven movies... I may leave them for throughout the year though (DH and I both have a 'frivolities' budget each month)

Which Alice? I love the original Disney animated one as I watched it endlessly growing up.

Wreck It Ralph is brilliant - got it for DD on her birthday. DS absolutely adores Fix It Felix so I'm attempting to make an outfit for an Xmas present

Oh I forgot the worst witch film too. Loved that when I was young and made mum borrow it from the library endlessly. Have read the first two books to DD this year.

I hear wreck it ralph i think its one of the few flims that caters to both g irls and boys... and adult really.

turbo looks good. im hjoping to take mine there around the 14 for ds1 birthday. also the new chance of meatballs 2 looks good.

jack the g iant slayer? both mine 4 and 7 liked that..but i think it depends on the children.

Oh :( :(
I was hoping they'd continue doing one every Xmas. I remember being Hmm when I first heard about the first one but they are really lovely and totally faithful to the books.

Agree rise of the guardians is brilliant. Might get myself the soundtrack on iTunes too. We already have the DVD (like I said... addiction!) I love the yeti things and the little elves.

Arthur Christmas, Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Star Wars.
Also a new lego Batman film came out on Monday so we are going to get the boys that. It is an hour long which is good as some of the other lego themed dvd's are only around 20 minutes long.

We all mostly like the same stuff so the Disney type stuff will probably be wrapped up all together. I found some of those popcorn pots and might fill them with sweets or something to make a movie night type family gift.

DD, 4 yo, is getting The Jungle Book and Cinderella (both original Disney animation).

Bought her Matilda a while back which she refused to watch, and Bedknobs and Broomsticks, both of which I am hoping we'll get to watch over the holidays.
