ok.. so mine craft is very poular this year. i know both my boys 4 and 7 are crazy about them.

iv found some goodies. there not bargains as they dont seem to do them but ideas for thouse that love mine craft.

tonight iv discovered how to make christmass creeper stockings...

all you need is a green stocking,..

then some black felt fabric to make the creepers face... you can ethier stitch or glue them on. so they look something liek this

also ebay have MC torch.. iv brought these and they are lovely. they hang on the wall by folding back a corner and being sliped on a hook. perfect night light and toy... dont forget to keep the zombies away.

quite a few different cushions.. i like the first couple..

forbidden planet has loads .. the last pages have some lovely smaller plush's for 8 my two boys want the creeper and endamin... even though i think it looks scary lol

M and Co have Minecraft T-shirts but one get one half price.

gazzalw Sun 27-Oct-13 08:40:48

It is but then that's commercialism for you!

Oblomov Sun 27-Oct-13 07:49:41

Thank you for this. Ds1 is minecraft mad.
BUT everything is so expensive hmm

gazzalw Sun 27-Oct-13 07:30:44

Slightly different to pressie ideas (although we've got the annual and a T-shirt for Minecraft-fanatic DS ) - interesting article in The Times Magazine yesterday which went some way to open my eyes to the relative merits of Minecraft! Worth a read!

lol just only if you do mine. have uploaded pictures.

coin.. i think thats the great thing about minecraft its not a boy thing or girl thing. ...but i have seen knecklass and earings ..

CointreauVersial Sat 26-Oct-13 01:08:28

Anyone seen anything for girls?

In this house it's the DDs who are Minecraft nuts.

Justinepants Fri 25-Oct-13 22:18:51

Ooh thanks, wonderingsoul. Great links. Do you want to come and do my Christmas shopping? smile

I hadn't bothered to look closely at the torch and hadn't realised you could make it a wall light. That makes it much more worthwhile.

I can't wait to see your costumes. They sound great. So glad my ds didn't come up with that idea. I just have some school clothes I need to zombify and a bit of face painting.

wonderingsoul Fri 25-Oct-13 20:10:55 you could buy that then get some black pjs bottoms. mns do them on their own.

the redstone is very small so not worth it imo but the torch i have brought is alot better. its still kinda pricy but is more worth it. plus it can be played with as well as hang on the wall.

Justinepants Fri 25-Oct-13 20:06:15

I don't suppose anyone has found any Minecraft pyjamas have they? I've looked but can't see any. Minecraft-mad DS has birthday coming up.

Got him an excellent T shirt from Amazon last year - good quality. It had a diamond pick axe on the front.

He's going to get a set of books - beginner's handbook, the annual and another one - but he really wants some pyjamas. I'd wondered about getting another t shirt and some plain black pj bottoms.

I'm also pondering the redstone light but it looks a lot of money for something rather small. Does anyone have one?

wonderingsoul Fri 25-Oct-13 19:52:17

just finshed ds2 enderman out fit for halloween.. cardbord box and duc tape.. hes been taking it to bed and feeding it :/

i think ill do a creeper the same but will hunt out green duct tape.

im slightl;y very amused by them lol

Just checked the tshirt I bought for ds from Argos I got 7-8. I'd say it's not too bad but def on the small side. It will be fine for my ds he is 8 next week but if he has a growth spurt it won't last long! He is an average size for an 8 year old.

Picturesinthefirelight Thu 24-Oct-13 13:51:57

The BHS stuff is all too big for ds.

He's aged 9.5 but the size of a 6 year old.

wonderingsoul Thu 24-Oct-13 13:23:46

id say get a larger one, Argos seem to be coming up small.
bhs are pretty good. shall have a look at the jumper.

Doyouthinktheysaurus Thu 24-Oct-13 13:15:18

Ds1 got this for his birthday and it's great here

I have 2 Minecraft mad dses in this house! They have now discovered they can skype their friends while on's madness!

Coro Thu 24-Oct-13 13:15:13

BHS had several minecraft tshirts and also a jumper at £10 wasn't too unreasonable. HTHsmile

wonderingsoul Thu 24-Oct-13 13:09:01

Kiri... I found that after I made one myself lol.. need to do a creeper for ds2 shall try to upload a picture. Its not great but ds1 should like it.

I could do enderman though.. black duc tape would be great for that.. I used it for the hair on steve. Then I just need to do the eyes. ..or buy green duc tape lol.

Thank you sweet. Thats really helpful. I shall order some next week.

Great ideas thank you every one.

kiriwAnyFuckerwa Thu 24-Oct-13 12:59:55

wondering - have you seen this site?

I'm printing off an enderman head for DS to wear at Halloween

Picturesinthefirelight Thu 24-Oct-13 12:50:18

I was going to ask about the t shirts. Ds is 5-6 but I've started to buy 6-7 & I wasn't sure whether to get the bigger size or not.

sweetheart Thu 24-Oct-13 12:47:12

And some cheap green cushions here

sweetheart Thu 24-Oct-13 12:41:58

Some good kids t-shirts here

wonderingsoul Thu 24-Oct-13 10:09:29

i dont own a sewing machine and dont any one who does.. so that may be a better idea for me ruby. thank you. shall get shopping smile

Rubybrazilianwax Thu 24-Oct-13 08:47:56

Another easy idea for a cushion or even a full snuggy blanket.
I've made simple monster cushions this way but it would work well adapted for a creeper face.
Plain green fleece blanket
Cut 2 squares & make your cushion
Cut squares of black felt for creeper face
Fabric glue them on and use the iron (with something in between to stop felt burning) to seal glue & make it washable
