What are you buying for 6 year old girls?

I am really stuck for ideas for dd3. She's the youngest of 3 girls so we have plenty of toys as you can imagine. We already have loads of Polly Pocket, Sylvanians, books, games etc, although tbh I think she's getting a bit bored and would like something completely new and different to play with.

I thought maybe Playmobil...?

She has a bike and also dd2's old scooter. And the house is already over-run with Hama beads Grin

Any ideas?

Playmobil or lego Smile, I have got dd2 a couple lego friends sets and I am eyeing up the playmobil swimming pool and camber van. She has also asked for my little pony dolls, moxie girlz and the moshi monster mall ( and half the argos catalogue ) but won't be getting all these as I know they won't get played with, can't go wrong with lego and playmobil, lego gets played with almost every day in our house.

6yo dd1 is getting a cd player with some cds.

And lots of lego.

Cd player with CD's as well here. Also Monster High dolls and a password journal.

Thanks.

I'm surprised people are still buying CDs, I thought they were on their way out.

We have some Lego Friends and although dd likes playing with the dolls, she finds constructing them quite hard. My 10 year old, however, LOVES Lego Friends so I want to get little dd something that's just for her.

Playmobil pirate ship and Lego (Creator, not Lego Friends - can do so much more with the creator stuff....). Both specifically requested by dd6 who is currently sat building a lego mansion in the living room. Playmobil is the biggest hit in our house. Can highly recommend the swimming pool and camper van.

We bought a Sylvanian families department store last year, for both of our dd's (oldest is 8), but it never gets much attention.

I know lots of people will think this is a bad idea but I am getting my 6 year old a Hudl (using clubcard boost so will cost me £40)

She is always on my iPad, writing notes to herself and googling information. I thought I would load it up with some educational apps as well as some fun ones. I can't bear to fill the house with any more plastic.

I buy CDs from Amazon as most you get a digital copy now for your tablet/mp3 player

Biggest thing so far is a furby... She would love an iPod I think...

I am using Amazon to buy the digital version (mp3) for dd1 and then I will burn it to a blank disc.

So if the disc gets scratched, I can just burn it again.

My 6 yo dd has asked for a remote control car so have got her a flashing stunt one from ebay for £9. Shes has also asked for smurfs 2 so very easy Grin

Have also got her lego friends cafe and a pink furby mega cheap thanks to the bargain threads.

She has one of these mermaid books and loves it (i cant bear these or rainbow magic but hey ho) so I have bought her one of the same brand dolls from wilkinsons for about £3 and might put it with some more of the books.

also if you have sylvanians already - I am thinking of decorating some second hand bits and making a christmas village to be set out ready for christmas morning Blush this is more for younger dd though.

BTw someone on one of the threads mentioned a voice activated secret journal as something her dd wanted and when mine saw the advert she also said oooh I want one, will prob give it a miss though as no space for a giant plastic journal.

One more idea - dds friends have rollerskates..

DD is really into puzzle books - word searches and crosswords - there are some nice kids ones out there.

Also a box set from The Book People - the Claude one is good, or the Sally Gardner one. Or Winnie the Witch.

A new game for Leappad.

More arts stuff, glitter glue, feathers, googly eyes, coloured paper, pipe cleaners, etc. colourful biros are a big hit.

A wii game - Just Dance.

Dressing up outfits as she's grown out of all of hers.

DD wants a Furby Boom, I don't really get what it actually does or why they're so popular, but she's convinced FC will bring one.

DD got an iPod last Christmas and smashed it in February, hence the CD player this year! Easy enough to find on Amazon and it'll be ok for a year or 2 until I trust her with an iPod again. I am starting to consider the Hudl now as well.

We are also looking into a Hudl now.

I am disappointed really as I had her xmas sorted out already but I know she would love one and we have long journey every day which she hates.

On the other hand I have got away with getting her very cheap and free presents in the past.

Anyway, I have just discovered Djeco stuff....have a look op, not really on Amazon, but Bright Minds has lots as does a few other places.

Its really beautiful creative stuff, glitter boards, stamp sets, origanmi etc, lovely colouring pens.

So I have a load of different things from there, and a globe, as they are just learning about the world in our school...lots of books....some story cd's...a jewllery box, some necklaces...

My DD is 6 (will be 7 by Christmas) and we're getting her ...

A new ipod touch. She did have an old one - a 2nd gen that we bought second hand a couple of years ago. As she has looked after it well, and never smashed it (and it no longer updates onto the latest ios system, she can't get any games on it now) we've decided to replace it with a brand new one. She has this instead of a Nintendo DS etc.

Items for her hobbies (gymnastics) - new leotards, scrunchies etc.

She's very much into hair at the moment, so I'll see what I can get in Claire's.

Have you thought about a doll's styling head? My DD loves hers!

Arts and crafts etc

The latest now album.

A CD player that has got a docking station to it (for the new ipod )

And the usual - a DVD or two, some books etc...

DD1 is getting a large tool box filled with craft stuff. I did a big order from Barker Ross, of stuff to replenish glue, sellotape, card and paper, plus pipe cleaners, stickers, confetti, glitter etc. I've also got friends and family collecting little boxes (matchboxes, toiletries and make up) to put in it, as she loves making little decorated boxes to put short notes in.

I have got a furby boom (at a bargain price thanks to Mumsnet), as a joint present for her and DD2.

DS is getting Disney Infinity, so boths DDs are also getting a character.
