I'm having a hard time keeping up with the links and other wonderful sounding recipes on some of the other poncy threads, thought it might be handy to have recipes / links all in one thread.

Anyone like to share their tried and true Christmas chutney, jam, pudding, cake, biscuit, all things delicious recipes??

Someone was talking about chilli jam, sounds fab if that person happens to stumble in here!

Sounds like a fab idea for a thread.

I'm thinking of trying to make Nigella's chilli jam recipe here I also want to do a chutney or relish to go with it but I haven't made up my mind yet. I'd like to do a rhubarb one but I don't think we've grown enough.

I also have plans to make marshmallow and honeycomb. I've never made either before so I'll probably get DH to do it for me then take the credit.

Apple Chutney

ingredients
2 cups apple cider vinegar
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 pounds tart green apples (such as Granny Smith), peeled, cored, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
10 large garlic cloves
1 2-ounce piece fresh ginger, peeled, coarsely chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper
1 1/2 cups (packed) golden raisins
2 tablespoons yellow mustard seeds

Bring vinegar and sugar to boil in heavy large nonaluminum saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Toss apples and lemon juice in large bowl. Combine garlic, ginger, salt and red pepper in processor; blend until finely chopped. Add apple and garlic mixtures, raisins and mustard seeds to vinegar. Simmer until apples are tender and chutney thickens, stirring occasionally, about 45 minutes. Place in bowl. Cool. Cover; chill. (Can be made 1 week ahead. Keep chilled.)

I make this every year,I can it and give it as gifts too.

It is very good :o
