Am I right in thinking it will start on Friday 29th November?

I believe so. I'm looking forward to it. Loved it the past couple of years.

Is it the Friday after Thanksgiving?

In which case, yes it would be 29th November.

What is the Black Friday thing? I've seen it mentioned a lot but never went on it or anything. I rarely use amazon until I found the xmas bargain thread so don't know what happens Smile

I found last years rubbish compared to the year before, I bought a couple things last year and all were disappointing, the year before was much better with bigger bargains. I won't be getting too excited about this years.

FairyJen, it works like the lightening deals. Amazon slash the price of things for a limited period or until it's sold out.

Last year a bought day a stunt scooter for around £60 which was better than half price.

The year before I bought my mum a Kipling bag for £13 which she uses daily and still looks like new. A curling wand for around £20 which has been great and a few other bits.

Didn't it run for the week leading up to black Friday and then had their best bargains on that day? Did I imagine that? I got sfa last year, but some great bargains the year before!

I have never even heard of this Black Friday thing?! So, from what I'm reading, I understand Amazon slash their prices...but how do you know what the heavily reduced items are? Do they just have a "Black Friday" button/thing on the site you click on then browse through the deals?

Remember that they dont pay their taxes in the UK so thats how they can afford to slash their prices & generally undercut everybody else.

HoneyDragon · 01/10/2013 00:01

But unlike Boots they pass the cost to the consumer.

And I pay enough tax for everyone Sad

They do it all year now. I'm not banking on it being any good.

How do you know what these massively discounted items are? Is there a 'section' for them specifically?Smile

It was crap last year, and to be honest, the lightning deals usually are too, I'm not going to bother I don't think.

I would like to know what has been reduced by half price, is there a list?

Report
JerseySpud · 01/10/2013 10:36

no you have to wait on the day

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 01/10/2013 10:38

Last year I waited and spent ages scrolling through it all to find there was nothing I wanted. Also, I like to do the bulk of my Christmas shopping earlier than that.

TheOnlyPink · 24/11/2013 19:57

DisneyAddiction you can access lightening deals on the app, but you cant view tomorrows ones yet, not sure if the black friday deals will work on the app, they get massive traffic for these.

I was a bit disappointed with the first day, apart from the 3ds bundle there isnt anything too interesting, but will still be interested to see the prices!
