presents how do you wrap yours ????!!

With xmas getting close, how do you wrap your presents ?
Bows , ribbons, newspaper ?
Lets share our idea's here.

I use wrapping paper. I put bows and ribbons on some but not all. I have no colour scheme other than get lots of cheerful colours in :)

I wrap with plain coloured wrapping paper and tie up with ribbons and a big bow. Odd shaped things get put in a box first because I can only manage cubes. I think my way is quite boring, I'm interested to see how everyone else does it.

For children's gifts I use whatever wrapping paper is cheapest in the 10m rolls. My ds is 3 so everything comes in huge boxes!

For adults I usually pick a colour scheme in nice shiny paper. last year I got the Next wrapping pack, 3 rolls and bows and ribbons for £6. was lovely thick paper in regal colours.

I use brown paper then add bits - one year I tied them up with edible shoelaces and tied lollies around the bow, or added teeny bells to coloured raffia tied round in a bow. I've also tied candy canes on, or bits of dried orange and cinnamon sticks.

Always use big luggage labels, some now come with coloured string.

It's pretty inexpensive and can be used for any time of the year, plus the decoration can be as cheap as you like.

I get DH to do it. I choose and pay for the majority of the presents, so he can deal with wrapping them.

This year it's brown paper, ribbon from IKEA and retro cassette style name tags.

Brown paper is always used. One year it was brown paper and string.

I like to get the presents bought and wrapped but don't want to get too Christmassy too early so I'd rather use brown paper than Christmas gift wrap.

Besides; it's miles cheaper.

I use thick brown parcel paper. Tied up with a nice ribbon....or usually string. With a brown luggage tag for the name and a bit of holly or something for decoration.
Sometimes put a tiny bit of glitter spray on if I really want to annoy someone :)

You need to get to the Christmas board. You'll get lynched here saying it is "near" in September

Anyway. I wrap naicely, as I was taught to gift wrap in a naice shop in my teenage working years. No tape showing, thick paper. My preference is for double sided plain gift wrap so I can make colour bands with folding (navy and silver, red and gold).

Sara I did tjat with the candy canes last year. Looked really nice. Also little christmas decs. Just chrap ones.....little wooden ones in tescos u can get 6 for £1. They look really nice tied on to the ribbon/string/bow.

I always start out with grand ideas of rustic brown paper, piano sheet music, raffia, dried orange and sticks and shit.

Reality is always a quick dash to the 99p store for winnie the pooh wrapping paper and sellotape.

Ha select I was coming on to say badly too! In fact, it's a joke in my family about how bad I am at wrapping presents, especially irregularly shaped ones.

I'm hopeless at it (although hopefully getting better). One year, I wrapped them all like Christmas crackers, by which I mean to say I smothered them in wrapping paper and twisted the loose ends.

Rolling tape into tubes to make it double sided means you can do it without it showing. Folding the paper edges so you see a crease rather than a cut edge makes it tidy too.

It's a different "theme" every year and they must all look the same.

In the last few years I've used brown paper or a very low key pattern with velvet bows/raffia or string.

Then next to the bow, something more textured like: small silver coloured bells, cinnamon sticks, holly, berries, retro sweeties etc.

It's a huge part of Christmas for me and I like to do them very slowly in big sessions watching Christmas films and drinking something festive.

This year as I'll DC2 will be a newborn, so they'll probably be wrapped by DH, competently but with no frills and large amounts of tape.

I use fabric actually - I bought some red with snowflakes, white with reindeer, and green with holly leaves a few years ago, and wrap everything up in those with gold ribbon tied around.

You can fasten them together with Sellotape, but I prefer to use a few stitches, leave an end of the thread loose and then it can easily be pulled out.

All the fabric gets reused each year, which I prefer to wasting the paper.

I take enormous joy out of wrapping Christmas presents. I like them to look all co-ordinated. I don't know why, as they are never seen all together collection style. I have a toddler, and there is no way that they would last under the tree looking all pretty.

I have made my wrapping choices already for this Christmas, and bought some ribbons in crafty ribbons, all co-ordinating, but in different widths, depending on the size of the presnet. Now I need to buy some plain paper. I am looking for lightish blue, with a sheen, on rolls. Looking for some pointers on this thread for where to look!

I long to wrap everything in lovely Japanese fabric one year. It looks amazing but tricky to pull off, I think they call it Furoshiki.
