Alternatives to the Father Christmas Lapland experience in the UK?

My mum really wants to take DS (5) and niece (6) to Lapland before Christmas for a short break to do the whole Father Christmas extravaganza! It's a lovely offer but I've had a little poke around Trip Advisor and there have been mixed reviews.

I was hoping to offer her an alternative thing to do in the UK. Any suggestions? Could be a short break, or a day trip? But something properly Christmassy and magical!

Or am I just being a humbug and would actual Lapland be worth it?

Have you investigated LaplandUK, general ticket sales available from 17/9 range from £45 to £75 depending on dates, three hr immersive theatrical experience, baking / stories with Mrs Clause, toy making with elves, Sami and reindeer and a visit with Father Christmas.... I can't wait!!

Simply put....there is no alternative that even remotely compares to the real lapland!!!, we've been centre parks etc etc and the real lapland is just amazing! Its the best place in the world IMO and I've travelled lots!

We went for four days the week before Xmas last year with thomsons. We went to saariselka. It started with the party flight with fancy dress, party games, singing carols down the intercom etc!

We had an amazing activity day here www.santasresort.fi/

We did snowmobiling, husky rides, mini skidoos, and reindeer rides. Then we had a snowmobile sled ride through the woods searching for Santa! So good!!!,

We paid extra for a 3 hour husky adventure were me and dh each drove a dd with a team of 6 huskys over the fells as we shouted mush!!, we stopped at a cabin for hot berry juice and reindeer sandwiches!!!

On the last night the was a Xmas party and fireworks.

The resort has a 2 km sledge run and free sledges everywhere. Snow up to your knees!

Ignore the bad reviews nearly all are for day trips which you can expect...it takes as long to get to Greece and you wouldn't go there for a day :)

Please go its simply fantastic!!,

I'm very Envy I'm planning on next year again!

Oh on our way home we saw elves sitting on a roundabout waving, miles from resort!!!,
