Present ideas for parents who can't have house stuff?

Parents will be going through a full house renovation over Christmas.

I have no idea what to get them, or to keep to individual presents.

Anything I can think of- books/jewelry etc will most likely get lost in the muddle of things

I would suggest a day out instead then. How much were you planning to spend?

Pay for a meal out for them, they might be glad to get away from the mess. Or tickets for a show, you could offer to keep them safely until they go to see it.

John lewis vouchers - so they can accessorize their new pad when it's finished!
Fr your mum (or dad for that matter) - mini/travel toiletries, makeup etc to use on the move
Pretty storage boxes (eg Dunelm Mill) or new suitcases, to keep special bits in pre-move
Magazine subscriptions or Love Film (perhaps to start after the renovations?)
Choccies or posh food that they can use up over the festive season?
