Instead of a leappad I'm thinking of getting dd1 a cheap tablet, which one would you recommend?

We got our ds a kindle fire for his 7th birthday, it does everything he wants it to, and is easy to use.

Yep, as long as you've got wi-fi, so no good if you wanted him to be use the Internet in the car etc; but fine at home - have also linked it to grandparents wi-fi so he can use it when he's there.

We have kindle fire & ipad. Kindle is meh. There are fewer apps unless you set it to use google play and this isn't easy. I wouldn't buy a kindle again ~ Nexus are good apparently

7" Google nexus, prices should be dropping soon as new ones are about to come out. Kindles are designed really around buying stuff from Amazon... As that's who makes them! We got the nexus for dd's 4th birthday, she loves it. Its easy to use and a good size for her to hold. I love it too! Grin

I just bought DD6 a notebook to put away for Xmas. It's pink, comes in a neoprene sleeve for £100. It was less than half price.
2gb ram so not massive powerful but great for games and browsing.

I expect she will be thrilled.

I'm also considering this for ds as he turns 7 at Christmas but I just don't know if it would be worth it?
