I've just made mulled christmas punch (DH is here today so making the most of the acceptable afternoon drinking period grin),
I'm going to wrap my last couple of presents and watch Home Alone, and DD is enjoying sneaking candy canes and chocolate from the tree thinking I haven't noticed!

blue2 Tue 18-Dec-12 14:04:54

I am actually Home Alone and about to go upstairs and pull out all the presents I've hidden over the last few months and wrap them (before anyone discovers my hiding places!)

TheHoneyDragonsDrunkInTheIvy Tue 18-Dec-12 14:13:45

We've been unwrapping presents grin as its dds birthday.

craftynclothy Tue 18-Dec-12 14:22:16

Making cakes for Dd2's nursery Xmas party tomorrow afternoon.

I may do some Xmas sewing later.

TheOneWithTheHair Tue 18-Dec-12 14:25:25

Happy birthday Little HoneyDragon. It's mine too.

I always seem to get into the Christmas mood on my birthday so I've been putting up decorations and sewing a snowman. I'll be finishing off teacher presents and writing more cards later.

SantasNaughtySack Tue 18-Dec-12 14:27:39

Happy Birthday TheOneWithTheHair grin

Took dd to Build A Bear in Milton Keynes today. She seems to think people lay on the Xmas lights just for her!

fuzzpig Tue 18-Dec-12 14:29:31

Had our staff Xmas lunch today. Was very surprised to be given a present as I've been off sick for ages and hadn't picked a name for secret Santa. Lovely food too!

DH is out with DSS tonight - watching the hobbit, so I will be spending the evening wrapping his presents, and listening to my new Libera Xmas CD.

onthemetro Tue 18-Dec-12 14:29:58

Buying and wrapping presents, listening to Christmas songs and posting off a few gifts to my parents as I won't see them til the end of Jan - bit last minute but should reach them in time I hope! smile

DoubleMum Tue 18-Dec-12 14:30:41

I've bottled the toffee vodka and made dipped marshmallows and 2 types of chocolate bark. Plus bagged it all up for hampers.

TheOneWithTheHair Tue 18-Dec-12 14:33:58

Thanks everyone.

HoneyDragon in my family my two brothers, me and my mum all have birthdays between 11th and 24th. It always seemed like a month of celebration when I was younger. I loved it! Now it's a bit of a chore. grin

I think it's lovely your dd thinks the lights are just for her.

SantasNaughtySack Tue 18-Dec-12 14:34:43

Chocolate bark? Sounds amazing, even though I have no idea what it is!
HoneyDragon you were in my neck of the woods grin did you get caught up in the James Arthur chaos there today?

ujjayi Tue 18-Dec-12 14:35:48

Wrapped all the kids presents and bought two more last minute pressies off eBay that came to me at 4 this morning when I couldn't sleep.

wheredidiputchristmas Tue 18-Dec-12 14:49:39

Chocolate bark is easy.

Melt chocolate

Pour onto some greaseproof paper make into a rough oblong but don't make chocolate to thin (or thick) then top with dried fruit and nuts if wanted. Let it set then cut into bits. Stuff in face as it got fruit then it healthy grin.

TheHoneyDragonsDrunkInTheIvy Tue 18-Dec-12 14:54:51

No. We stayed up the other end grin

TheHoneyDragonsDrunkInTheIvy Tue 18-Dec-12 14:55:50

We went on the carasaul though wink

icovetthee Tue 18-Dec-12 15:00:16

I just hung the stockings on the mantel, I tidied (very Christmassy), I'm lighting a Christmas scented candle & wrapping a few boxes of chocolates as token gifts later.

I'm also planning on writing my resolutions and 25 before 25 list later & writing the festive shop list for Friday.

I wish we were going to Winter Wonderland, however.

attheendoftheday Tue 18-Dec-12 17:03:46

I took dd to our playgroup xmas party and met Father Christmas, then this afternoon we put up our tree. Tonight dp is out so I'll wrap the last few xmas presents and watch crap tv.
