Christmas gift for nursery staff - etiquette help needed

DS's nursery have gone above and beyond to help him and us this year, and I wanted to show our appreciation.

I suspect they will be inundated with nice biscuits and chocolates, so was thinking of giving cash, which I thought they could perhaps put towards their staff christmas party. But is giving cash okay?

Grateful for your experiences!

Hmmm....well if they're having a staff do the nursery might be paying for it anyway so the staff won't benefit if you give cash so you might want to check first

Thanks Joolsy, that was helpful. I had a word with a manager when I collected DS at lunchtime, and it's the staff Christmas meal this evening, so I've given her a contribution to hopefully buy a glass of wine each.

Ahh, that's lovely. Occasionally parents at our nursery have donated money to buy a round of drinks at the Christmas party. It's always very well received.
