Here

Although it really depends on how old your toddler is. My then 2yr old wanted to listen to audio books so I just bought him a cheap "proper" CD player. A bit like this

Those types are usually pretty simple to use as well.

I got a Hello Kitty CD player for DD for her third birthday. It's a huge hit. Easy to operate. DS who is 16 mo can do it and loves it too. You can get from
Both Argos and toysrus. Think it was £25.

Just get a normal one. DD has got our old one and has had it in her room since she was about 21mo and quickly got the hang of pushing the button to open it & change the CD, press play & stop and learned what a triangle (play) and square (stop) was too! It is one where the CD is on top of the machine so you lift something up to put the CD in, there's not a thing which slides in and out (as there often is with, say, a DVD player) and so perhaps less chance of breakage/temptation to put something else in there.

I was worried a normal one would break too easily

i second just getting a normal one. my ds got his first one when he was 2. i just got him a cheap smart price one from Tesco for £20 it played CDs fine and was easy enough for him to use himself and keep in his bedroom. i still have it now in my bedroom 5 years later!!

doesn't need to be complicated or an expensive character one

If you are worried you can put it out of their reach until they are older.

I got my DD (she's a bit older mind) this one.
I think it could be great for a toddler. It's not too higher price if you think she's going to put yoghurt in it or whatever.
But it's a great little machine. It can take batteries if you want to take it out into the garden, the volume is quite limited (bonus Grin )
