Looking for ideas for my baby niece. Don't want anything physically big as they have loads of all that and not a lot of room. Budget of around £20ish. Really need inspiration on this one!!

DS seems to be happiest with his stacking cups right now. He's 8 months.

My pal violet. I've bought my pal scout for my 7mo ds2 as all babies/children I know who have it absolutely love it.

DD and DS both enjoyed the singing cookie jar shape sorter at that age. I think Argos stocks them.

Thanks so much, you are so quick to reply! My Mum has already beat me to the stacking cups but I'm looking at the my pal violet and its on sale at Argos so is looking like a good idea!

10mo DD is happiest with very basic toys at the moment, mainly because now she's up and about toys aren't of much interest. But a couple of musical instruments - Wilkinsons does a good range for about £2 each - like tambourines, maracas would probably be really enjoyed. Also blocks and stacking cups.

The only electronic toy she actually likes is the ELC xylophone, which plays preprogrammed tunes she likes to dance to as well.

ELC do a money box pig with big plastic coins which DD adored and still likes to play with occasionally at 2.

My DDs (and all the other kids that age) have loved the tony hide and squeak eggs.

my wondercube

I love it because you can buy new fillings for birthdays and Christmas or just throughout the year until they have them all Xmas Grin

shape sorter? It might be a bit old for her at the mo but they seem to love them and they play with them for a while, this one's nice

That piggy bank toy is ace, agree with sugar

Also agree with musical instruments - there's a really nice, properly tuned glockenspiel you can get that is indestructible and pretty cheap.

I got our niece who will be 9 months a leapfrog discovery house had really good reviews and only about 10 pounds on amazon

Should keep interest for a couple of years too by the sound of it
