2nd hand on Ebay.
The prices will plummet after Christmas if you can wait that long.
Under £40 new you won't get pneumatic tyres.
You get what you pay for.

We had this for my DD. Fab bike she had it from about 2 years and could it still fits now (though she now has a big bike). Very light and has lasted brilliantly, we've just given it a paint job to hand to a cousin. Can't remember where we got it from..not amazon.

Decathlon have good cheap balance bikes too and just saw that Tesco direct has cheap BB

Sorry, forgot to say that bike works out about £60 with postage but you may find it cheaper elsewhere

That one is exactly what she had.. that one has got 12 inch wheels. DD had it from about 2.5 until 4 years. She hadn't outgrown it. Seat is very adjustable. Our DD is a shorty. We did loads of research at the time. It's in kitchen if you need me to do any measuring!!

Thank you Katee!! That looks like the one to go for!!

Hope she likes it. I'm sad DD has grown out of it. DD is a bit sad hers is going!

Ok, £60 has been vetoed!

Needs to be £40 at the absolute most...neither if us have time to pick up from eBay so will have to be. A new one!

We bought ds2 an Early Rider wooden balance bike for his 2nd birthday. Really light, lovely looking bike that's very adjustable and will easily fit him until he can ride a proper bike. Think it'll be above budget though unless you get a second hand one.
Just wanted to say though that if you're looking at less than £40 wooden ones are probably best avoided. Nursery bought a couple and they were trashed inside a fortnight.

Small child here has one of these (although not in that particular, hideous, shade of pink!
I know not wooden, but they're well constructed and stand up to a spot of hard labour (aka being dropped and left around the place a lot).

right, absolutrlyu have to order one tomorrow for hr and I'm still none the wiser!

I really do like the look of the Chicco one, but will it be to big for a pretty small 3yo?!

TIA!!!

It hasn't arrived yet so cant confirm what it's like, DS1 is nearly 3 but small for his age so hope it's the right size

Chicco, definitely, it's 2.1 kg lighter! That';s massive difference.
The Kettler comes with a hand brake but she might never get hang of that anyway.

Chico looks fine for a small 3 year old . first couple of reviews say its fine for a 2 year old and too small for a 4 year old

We've bought DD this one for Christmas. She's not had it yet though, so I can't comment how good it is-!

Strider

I don't know who the UK retailers are but google them

Got one for ds2s second birthday and it's been used every single day since and is still pristine.

Its maneuverable, lightweight, gorgeous colours, really adjustable and it is the best money I've ever spent on the kids without a shadow of a doubt.

Should have said, he's almost 4 now and the saddle is nowhere near the highest it can go
