Night before Christmas, sounds good...any chance of a link? Pls!

Do u buy new books/dvds etc each yr?
What time do u get the hamper out?
There's barely enough hrs in the day as it is!

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:36:00

cazza2878 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:38:18

Yep, Arthur Christmas just released on dvd/blu ray last week.
I got hardbacked version of night before Christmas with cd on Amazon for £3.73.
I got Christmas mug and plate in asda for £2 each.

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:42:35

cazza2878 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:44:16

Mini marshmallows were asda too ( in baking aisle) think most big supermarkets should have them.

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:44:20

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:45:04

fanoftheinvisibleman Sat 24-Nov-12 22:46:40

cazza2878 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:50:21

Oooo where's gingerbread house kit from? Sounds fun (although maybe needs to be done before Christmas eve timewise )

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:51:55

Oooo bath stuff, never thought of that. Could get a new bath toy and try them with a bathbomb, are they suitable for young ish DCs, mine r still on johnsons!

I succumbed to pressure today and gave them the Arthur Christmas DVD early!! Normally we go out for a walk/meal/visit someone - ie any pretence to get out the house and always make sure One f my dc is last out. Then my eight our pops over with 'the bag' with Xmas pjs/onesies last year, a DVD and popcorn. They like to make their own reindeer food and sort out snacks for Santa. Sad ow cos ds doesn't believe but still orders how the Xmas gift bag gets there!

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:54:02

Ah so its not from u then make its part of the build up, like the elves have left it or something? (eight our)?!

Glitterkitten24 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:56:19

Mines has...
Christmas DVD x2
Christmas book for DS x2

Comfy Christmassy slipper socks for all of us
Reindeer food
Mulled wine spices
Gingerbread stars (the soft German stuff, can't remember the name of it)
A personalised stocking for DS

I had to wrap it all up in cellophane last weekend to
A) stop me eating the sweets and having to replace them
B) stop me buying more and more and more stuff!

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:56:39

So what is the actually hamper?
Some sort of Christmas sack?

fanoftheinvisibleman Sat 24-Nov-12 22:57:19

We did our Gingerbread house last christmas eve afternoon whilst watching Polar express. Last years was from Ikea and was lovely. However, we now have a 4 month old puppy so engineering a long shopping trip just for that would not be on.

We are going to try the one in Aldi this year instead.

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:57:25

Do u wrap the items up? In Xmas paper?

makemineapinot Sat 24-Nov-12 22:58:16

The elves leave ours wrapped up in a Xmas gift bag x

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:58:39

What from Aldi? Ginger bread house?
Like hansel n gretel style?

Flojo1979 Sat 24-Nov-12 22:59:29

Ah yes them big christmassy gift bags, must track one down

makemineapinot Sat 24-Nov-12 22:59:42

DC painted Xmas tree plates when they were 2&3 and we put hem out or Santa every year - they love seeing them when I get them out the high up cupboard!!
