This year's Christmas is being done on a shoe string budget which is almost gone. I literally have £10 left and no possibility of any more. The adults in the family were told that this year they wouldn't get anything off dd and not to get me anything off the dn. As we are all in the same boat financially it has worked well. However I cut contact with my mum back in July but she still see's dd once or twice a week. If I tell her that she and grandad won't be getting anything ww3 will erupt and spoil Christmas.

I am desperately seeking ideas for a gift for grandma and grandad for £10 or less that doesn't involve baking or much craft. Anyone care to take on mission impossible?

apparently you can draw on a dinner plate with sharpie pens then set in the oven. cheap plate from poundland and a pack of sharpies from whsmith?

upload photos of DD across the year and order a calendar. Vistaprint or Photobox or Bonusprint all do offers.

we're making snowman soup for everyone - cello cone with hotchoc powder in the bottom then topped with smarties and mini marshmallows, tied with ribbon and candy cane attached.

A bowl of potted flower bulbs? A pair of cheap mugs and a jar of fancy tea/coffee/hot chocolate? A bottle of cheapish (eg Aldi) sparkling wine and a couple of glasses from a supermarket basic range? DVD of a classic film? Book from the Works or similar? A big glass jar full of sweets?
