Can I take crackers in checked in luggage?

That's about it really, we are going to my bro who lives in Japan, and want to take stuff you can't get there. We posted some in a big box of stuff a couple of years ago, and because of the crackers it all got held up in customs until about March Sad

So has anyone managed to do this and not have to empty out the contents of their suitcase in security?!!

it will depend on the airline as some will let you and some dont. Check the airline T&C's. The Civil Aviation Authority says this:

Christmas crackers. Provided the Christmas crackers are in
their original retail packaging, they may be carried by
passengers. Check with your airline as some airlines have
decided not to allow the carriage of crackers.

No, you are not allowed crackers in hand luggage. Checked bag may be ok though.

I have been told no to checked luggage too. Sad

I can't even get them posted from Amazon. I am asking a colleague to drive over with some next month as he's going home on the Eurostar.
