I am going to do an online order today for DVDs and I want some classic ideas for the DC. Things that are appropriate for 4 and 6 year olds please. We have got some classic ones already and I have just put The Addams Family into the basket and pre-ordered Brave and the Shrek boxset but what are your most watched DVDs in your household?

And any nice book ideas for a four-year-old please. Maybe something educational like a look inside the body or a basic one about the universe would be good. Thank you!

At that age my two absolutely loved The Land Before Time boxed set, they watched them over and over again and still do sometimes 5 years later.

I haven't even heard of that DoubleMum. I will look it up thanks!

The Usborne 'See Inside' books are fantastic - I got the 'See Inside Your Body' one for DD when she was 4 and it has been much read by her (she's now 7) and DS (nearly 5) ever since - especially the bit about poo hmm

Favourite DVDs in this house are currently all the Scooby Doo films, Despicable Me, Monsters Inc and Tangled. We saw Brave in the summer and it terrified both of them though!

Mine are 14,11 and 5 atm and they all (still) adore Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. Have you got those?

They also like Beauty and the Beast and The Princess and the Frog and Mulan, the Madagascar films, Wallace and Gromit.

Does your 4 yr old like Mog? Mine LOVES her

At that age we had to watch "surf's up" about a zillion times.

Yes the See Inside books are great, and the Book People often have a couple.

DD will be four at Christmas, I ahve gotten her the Brave DVD too.

Her favourite DVD classics bought for myself really are:

The Raggy Dolls
Animals of Farthing Wood (I had a friend convert the NHS to DVD's)
The Chipmunk cartoons
Meg and Mog
The Yogi Bear movie (cartoon version I watched as a child)
A Nightmare before Christmas
Peter Rabbit

More modern DVD's she likes are:

All 3 chipmunk movies
A Bee Movie
