Christmas

Toys for 6yr old boy that he can play with on his own.....

I've got DS a few presents for Christmas already but having looked down what I and family have got him I can't see any actual toys that he can get out on Christmas morning and play with straight away. He is having a DS and also some lego but everything else is board games and books really and I want to bump it up with some proper "toys" that can just be unwrapped and are ready to go.

Amazon is great but not if you don't really know what you're looking for. Any suggestions please?

Hi, I'm thinking about getting my DS some Geomag (can't decide whether to though), that looks like the type of thing that is ready to play with straight away.

Transformers?

Activity/colouring/sticker book?

You're not alone. My DS also 6 the exact same - we've got him a cheap intenet tablet but mostly games and books.

He an avengers figures but again no toys.
Will be watching with interest.

Yep, same problem here with 5yo DS

He's already drowing in playmobil and lego, so none of that Grin

He is getting this though, along with all the people/monsters.

Lego is doable straight away.

But agree the marble run is fun, or hot wheels tracks (the wall tracks take a bit of setup, but floor ones are easy to put together.

Boringbitch, geomag is absolutely fab. My 2 (6 & 8 yrs) love it and create lots of amazing buildings. We have the geomag panels set. It hardly ever gets put away in our house! Buy a decent size box though - I ended up having to buy a second box so they could make bigger models!

Got Geomag (Looks fab!), Lego Batman and a Hot Wheels Track and then found a book which has 200 various paper aeroplanes/rockets in it all decorated and the introductions on how to fold each one, so thought he might enjoy that too. Also ended up buying another shed load of books!
