What were/are these Christmas biscuits?

We used to have them every year, I don't know if they're still around. They were German, came in a bag that might have been white or dark blue. The biscuits were I think round, or possibly crescent shaped, or maybe both. On the outside they had a white crunchy coating and on the inside they tasted like gingerbread. They were a bit soft and the centre was gooey. Please someone tell me what they are and that they still exist.

They sound like Lebkuchen, traditional German spicy biscuits.

Lebkuchen or pfeffernussen. Best places to get them in the UK are Lidl and Also.

Yes peppersnapper as we used to call them!

Safeway used to sell them, but now I get my fix from Aldi/Lidl
