Inline or quad skates for 6 year old?

6 year old DD has asked for roller skates for Christmas but I'm confused about which ones to get. She's not particularly sporty or confident (the stabilisers are a long way from being taken off her bike!) so I thought quads might give her more confidence because she'll feel more stable. But from what I've been reading it sounds like you're actually less likely to fall over on inline skates. Anybody got any advice?

i got my ds these for his 6th birthday in May and they have been a huge hit. He uses them a lot better than his quad skates.

ELC do inline skates that have kind of stabilisers that you can remove once they get a bit more confident. I've ordered them for my kids, so don't know if they're any good.

quad skates are significantly easier to skate in! I have both and would pick my quads over my blades any day!

The Argos ones look great Queen, and they come in the all important pink:) I'll check out the ELC ones too tho. I think I will go for inline.. Thanks both.

Sports direct do some which are inline but to start with you can put 2 wheels at the back kind of like a trike! I have 2 dd's who picked up skating really quickly on these but who were like bambi on ice when we had to borrow the quads at their skate session!

See Dunlop skate and protection set on sports direct. They are only £12 at the moment. They were fine for indoor skate sessions and ok outside.

I hadn't seen your reply when I last posted Emandlu. Think I might be even more confused now . I'll check out the inline with added trike/stabiliser action. They'll be for outdoors so I'm guessing inline might be better on bumpy pavements. Thanks everyone.
