MicroScooter or balance bike for 2 yearold DS?

Was thinking about buying a balance bike for DS for Xmas, had this Puky one in mind, but was wondering if it was too small and i would need the next size up.

He has a small bike with stabilisers (which DP found at the tip and fixed!) but DS hasn't got the hang of pedaling so sort of straddles it and walks along, so i thought a balance bike would get him moving.

The other thing i was thinking about was a 3 wheel scooter. Like this DS had a go at nursery and seems to like it, but I guess it won't help him learn to ride a bike.

My DS has loved his microscooter. Got the hang of it v quickly (2nd birthday present) and zips about on it. We got the micro mini - pricey but worth it.

We also got him a balance bike - but he's not as keen on that as the scooter.

I think I will get the scooter for him then and the balance bike can wait till he is 3.
What is the difference between the the mini-micro and this one i am thinking about getting him? (they all look the same to me!!)

Just buy the micro, I have a grave yard of scooters that looked good and were much cheaper, but they just aren't as good. Cheapest way to get one is using jojo maman and the discount codes you can get at this time of year.

Ooh, where do you get discount codes from?

Balance bike. Ds is now 3.5 and uses his balance bike and proper bike as much as each other, so he gets to learn balancing and pedalling, I rekindled he'll be riding without stabilisers this summer.

Micro scooter, my 3 dc's had both available to them from 2, none were especially interested in the bike til about 3yo but were fantastic on the scooter almost immediately. Ds1 started balance bike at about 3, rode proper bike without stabilisers as soon as he had it for 4th birthday.

Also if you walk a lot and would use the scooter it is also much more convenient than a balance bike and easier to carry home from the park/balance on back of puschair Grin

Of course i meant ds using scooter while you walk, not you on scooter, but whatever you prefer Grin

Bizarrely, they are cheaper on the french amazon website amazon.fr about 49-59 euros + 6 euros delivery.

(We live in France but will be in the uk for xmas, so am thinking about ordering it from France and getting it delivered as it is still £10 cheaper than the UK amazon, even with free delivery)
