Or at least, not one big enough to feed 6.

So what do I feed us all for Christmas lunch?

Don't say buy a new oven Grin

Can't you get a crown or something smaller?

Just get birdy pieces?

I used to do goose and chicken and cook one at a time. You don't HAVE to cook it all at once, get a couple of smaller birds/joints.

Or get a deboned three bird roast - lots of meat in a small joint, would easily feed 6.

You must have a tiny oven?!

Cut it into joints?

It's teeny tiny. New house, new oven and I keep looking at it and thinking there's no way I'm fitting a turkey in... I don't know, maybe it's not as bad as I think. Will do some playing around with turkey-sized objects!!

Can't you just buy a turkey crown instead? Sorry if a silly suggestion... never cooked a turkey in my life :)

I buy turkey crowns, alot smaller but it's all meat. It does Christmas dinner and then another two meals afterwards. There are 6 of us.

I've not been impressed with turkey crowns, so far.

I'd probably just make a lovely ham instead, probably Nigella's in coca cola or cherry cola.

Also means you've got the oven free for potatoes and veg.

Turkey crown's an idea; have never done one before...

Is the ham in coke done on the stove then? Having the oven clear for potatoes and vegetables sounds good.

Butchers often do turkey breast rolled and sometimes stuffed. They are all meat and you can undo the butchers twine to put a homemade stuffing inside.

You can stretch the turkey servings by doing larger sausages instead of chipolatas, and roast the breast with streaky bacon over it which can be eaten and also bastes to stop it drying. Serve lots of veg and potato to fill everyone up.

Another idea is to roast a turkey the day before, slice up and refrigerate in gravy. Then you can re-heat in the microwave or in an oven proof dish in the oven, which will take much less time and space.

You could also consider a large chicken, a 4lb one will do 6 adults.

Maybe you should measure up. I used to have a very narrow, literally half-sized oven and still managed to squeeze in a massive turkey. For 6 it doesn't have to be that big...

My parents always cook theirs on the gas BBQ if you have one with a lid it's perfect! Infact they cook everything on it!

Why don't you do a turkey crown and a ham?

Is my family strange for always having at least 2 meats (usually 3) for Chriostmas dinner?

Turkey crown it is, from Aldi. Have decided. Thanks for all advice!
