P*ssed off with Tesco's and their voucher exchange 'skylanders'

So Tesco are doing there voucher exchange, i have been waiting in hope that 'skylanders' is on the list. Got up early to have a look and 'yay, skylanders is on the list', i then go to find the skylander starter pack for the wii, i find it for the ds (on voucher exchange) and the x-box 360 (on the exchange) but the starter pack for the wii is not Angry. Surely if 'skylanders' is on the list for items on the exchange this should include all skylanders? and why is the ds starter pack and the 360 on the voucher exchange but not the Wii?

I have e-mailed them but so far no reply Sad

Have been saving my vouchers up to buy this as dd1 has asked for it and a wii for christmas (wii will be 2nd hand but its still going to cost me a fortune for this and the skylanders), i'm not a happy bunny Sad.

Huh? So they don't stock what you want? Confused

Oh sorry to hear that, Marne. Sad Angry

They are not obliged to offer a special deal on the thing that you want.

Fair enough to be disappointed, but not to be pissed off.

I wonder if Tesco Customer Service might make a special case for you if you ring them? I find them superb on the phone.

I didn't think any video games were included - off to see what I can get!

You can ask but I imagine the wii is the most popular so no need to tempt people with the voucher exchange

That does seem a bit unfair though.
Try customer seviced in case it's a mistake.

Sometimes in the run up to Christmas they do voucher exchange for general spend on toys. Ask in store if one of those coming along ?

Report
derekthehamster · 01/11/2012 14:53

From what I can see the video games are not included, just the toys (ok if you already own the portal)

HoneyDragon · 01/11/2012 14:55

Oh the other two starter kits are included but not the Wii? Well that's surely a mistake?

sorry, I can see the games now!

The playstation 3 starter pack isn't included either (just x-box and ds), i think i have good reason to be p*ssed off. I wouldn't be as bothered if none of the starter packs were included as it does say 'video games not included' but the fact the ds and x-box ones are included seems a bit unfair. I will give them a ring when dh gets home (i cant call infront of dd1).

Have seen on MSE that others are upset about this too, one woman did manage to persuade the staff in a tesco store to discount her as it does say 'skylanders' are a part of the voucher exchange (does not say 'selected skylanders').

If i dont get a e-mail back i shall phone them and ask 'for a reason why its not a part of the deal but the others are'.

It's good news for you that MSE are onto it. (And MN!)

Thats why i thought i would post on here Grin, was hoping a few others would have spotted it too (as it seems to be a popular toy/game for christmas).

If i cant get it then i may have to sulk and never shop at Tesco again Grin

Oh, I just clicked on this fearing the worst! Ds2 is desperate for more figures for Christmas and so I bought some this morning using the voucher exchange. They are mostly included but I confess I didn't look at the game as he already has that. How very annoying for you Marne - I would be annoyed too. I was a bit cross there were no light core models left but I ended up with nearly £50 of stuff for £7.50 cash so I'm happy enough.

I think i will just go in store and try my luck (might have to cry a little and stomp my feet a bit) Smile.

Have already bought it for DD at full price Sad as she definitely wants it and I was worried it would sell out like all the Skylanders did last time (I think our store had one wii starter pack left last time I was in there). There were loads of Xbox ones though. DD doesn't actually need the starter pack but wants the figures. I think it's a massive con, but there you go.

I expect selling out anyway is what Tescos are banking on so they don't need to put it in the offer. I do hope you get some joy from them, though.

I wouldn't mind paying full price if she didn't need a wii to go with it Smile. Game have it on offer for £44.99 but its sold out (typical), i think i will have to go instore and beg or just buy it at full price, just means dd wont be getting much else for christmas (you get so much more for your money when they are younger and into plastic tat). Last year i bought her Lego Ninjago with the exchange offer and saved a fortune.

Last year I bought the original Skylanders for both girls on the voucher exchange and got one just with vouchers and the other I paid just £9 for! I'm expecting Christmas won't be so cheap this time round :D
