wooden dolls' house - toys r us?

was just wondering if anyone had this dolls' house and what it was like? i am not sure how much my DD (2.5) would play with a dolls house and so am loathe to spend £££ on the pintoy / plan one. it is 49.99 and comes with some bits and bobs to start with so i think it may be good value? i am tempted to order, but their website doesnt want to accept my card for some reason so i thought that i would check out any reviews here first!
thanks

Have a look at the ASDA one too. Someone recommended it on the Xmas shopping thread and I was very impressed when I checked it out. Discounted to £35 right now (plus £12 for furniture and the dolls family). I have already bought one. My DD is also 2.5.

thank you, i have looked at that one too, but my mum has just bought that one for her house. i saw it built for the first time this week and it is very pretty. its for the children apparently, but she was very excited when the furniture arrived yesterday Grin

It is good. There are lots of little bits you can take out for later. The furniture has stood up well. The only reservation I have is that the doors got pulled off very easily when DS was learning to walk but i don't know how you would get around that.

I got it for DD two years ago as it was on offer for that price ad I thought I'd better get it now or miss out. To the best of my knowledge, it has been that price ever since!

Sorry - just to say we have the Asda one - wouldn't recommend it. The doors and roof hinges aren't very strong plus you have to buy two furniture sets to make a 'house' so it ends up working out the same price as the toys r us one.

Dd (6) has the wooden Argos one (Chad Valley?). She loves it. It has one long door that swings open and the roof comes off so you can get to all of it really easily.
