What you said Grin

Only Fairytale has to be the proper Pogues/McColl version and not that travesty by Ronan Fecking Keating.

Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Vaughan Williams.

My Fair Lady. It seemed to be on telly every year when I was a kid and I got all those frilly frothy costumes mixed up with snowflakes in my mind.

Song: 'All I want for Christmas' - only Mariah Carey song I like. Always sing along no matter how many time I hear it.

Elf is also my favourite film.

I think movie choice I'm going to go with Home Alone....

Mariah's All I Want for Christmas & The Christmas Shoes.

I wouldn't advise watching the movie without some tissues handy!

Song: Fairy Tale of New York

Movie: Home Alone 1 and 2.

Very similar Peppermint - The Pogues Fairytale of New York & Love Actually & also It's a Wonderful Life Grin

Watch both those movies every Christmas Eve eve & Christmas Eve itself without fail so can't choose between them!

Have been thinking again and my song choice might have changed - Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews singing Baby It's Cold Outside, or anything at all off the Boney M Christmas album.

Christmas Vacation

And, tbh, any of the 70s/80s Christmas songs, although I love O Holy Night (think Home Alone, Kevin going into the church).

I believe in Father Christmas = Greg Lake always loved it (Jona Lewie's Stop the Calvary is a close second tho.

Miracle on 34th Street definitely favorite film. The 1994 version with Richard Attenbough and Mara Wilson.

Nobody wants to be alone at Christmas and elf or home alone!

Report
Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 21/10/2012 18:20

Oh charlotte you sound like me, as a 15 year old I used to wish I was grown up and spending Christmas like the Wham video. I used to think it was so sophisticated....

My friend and I had identical brooches like the one in the video....Blush

I now work about an hour away from the location of the "Wham" chalet, in Saas Fe, but no-one wants to go with me there... Sad
