Fibre optic Christmas tree recommendations

My mum's most loved Christmas possession was a fibre optic Christmas tree with silver balls already fixed to the 'boughs' so you didn't have to do anything but plug it in. It lasted about ten years but finally broke last year. She wanted another one just the same but the garden centre where she bought it had since closed and she didn't still have the box to find out what make it was.

I shopped around online and managed to get her a similar fibre optic tree BUT when she plugged it in there was a bang and wisp of smoke and the house fuse went. The company I bought it from were more than happy to send a replacement but my mum didn't want to take the risk of having an exploding tree in the house. Hmm

So I wondered if anyone could recommend a fibre optic Christmas tree preferably one that won't explode preferably four-feet high and green? Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Leave it to the week before Christmas then go to the DIY stores when they've knocked them down in price!

She ended up with the last real tree in the shop last year, a scruffy looking thing! I don't think price is an object, she just wants a nice fibre optic tree that isn't too big.

D'oh, no tips. I'll just pick one at random then and hope this one doesn't blow up the minute it's plugged in!
