Christmas Elf

Hello,

DD is now 2 1/2 and starting to 'get' Christmas so I really want to do the Christmas Elf thing with her (and the kids I mind).

Where can I get a cute, reasonably priced elf (preferably online) and do you have any ideas for mischeif he can get up to?

I was going to do moving Christmas decorations, hiding the stockings, hiding in the fridge, washing machine, different cupboards, unwinding the loo roll, eating 'my' chocolates then falling asleep in the fridge. Any other ideas?

Thank you

I've bought the two peppermint elves by gund.

The proper elf on the shelf look a little creepy to me so we went for cute and cuddly. :)

I didn't pay that much - it was from crusader eBay shop. (I can't link from iPhone to it tho.

Oh we have the gund ones too - boy and girl. They are really cute.

Yeah we have one of each too - every. :)
I have a ds and a dd so figured they'd have an elf each to keep an eye on them! And they can get up to more mischief with a friend! Grin

I got a Ken doll ($8) and in the next week or so will be making him an elf outfit out of red and green felt. But I am one of those crafty types that is looking forward to making it.
DS is only 18 months at the mo, but going to start it this year anyway. I cannot wait until he's really into Christmas...

If people are planning on buying the official Elf on the Shelf, you can buy from The Book Depository direct with no P&P.

For some reason on amazon there is £5.64 P&P.

We started this last year with the DD's. They loved it.

This year DD2 is 2.5 so will understand it more but still loved it last year and DD1 is now 4 and remembers him well.

Cant wait to get him out again this year! :)

Agree that Pinterest is a great source of inspiration!

The girl elf on the shelf is £17.58 on the book depository at the moment, not sure why it's cheaper than the boy one but cheapest I've seen it so far.

My elf arrived today, had to sneak him in without DD or the mindees noticing him, he is currently fast asleep in a drawer upstairs waiting for December :)

Thanks for the blog link, I'm off to review that and try to keep away from the Christmas bargains thread

Our Gund peppermint elfs arrived today - they're brilliant! I'm stupidly excited for 1 Dec....my DS's will love them Smile and I love the idea of doing it for years to come and then my DS's being able to hand them down to their DC's! Magical!

The elf on the shelf girl does NOT arrive with a skirt! (spent sat night making said skirt...)
