What are you getting your DH / DP for christmas?

My DH's birthday is in November so I tend to use up the good ideas for his birthday then I'm stumped for christmas!

For his birthday I have booked for us and 4 friends to go to Alton Towers (which he loves but hasn't been for years!) in the day, and see the Fireworks display in the evening, then stay in the hotel and go to the water park the next day. This is a complete surprise which I can't wait to tell him about!

That is his main present but will probably get him a PS3 game he wants that is out near his birthday & make him a little hamper of treat food and drink etc that he loves and will make his favourite (apple & cinnamon) cake & add candles as he doesn't like normal birthday cake!

Any other ideas or suggestions what you are getting DH's?

I'm getting my DH half a picture and he's getting me the other half!

It's something we've been wanting to buy for ages but didn't have the money.

Possibly tickets to see Harry Hill, failing that I'm stumped!

Beanbagz that sounds like a nice idea - we do have lots of bits and bobs we want for the house (recently moved in) so maybe I could suggest we buy something between us for the house instead of gifts for eachother this year?

RockySpeed oooh tickets, good one!
I will have to look if any of his favourite bands/comedians are playing anytime soonish and if there are tickets!

I have a similar prob with dp having a December birthday. So far I've thought of a bit of kit for our hobby and a DVD boxset of homeland, other than that I'm stuck. Time Mets are a good idea, though, I might see if I can find something he'd like.

Tickets I meant! Stupid computer is playing games today.

No idea! And he is a november birthday too!

What do you buy a 52 year old accountant who is not into clothes and has no hobbies. He likes gardening and cooking though.

Am thinking of a River Cottage cookery course for to do together. Not sure he will really be into it though.

DH's main present - a season ticket gift set for Bletchley Park, as he's a big fan of Alan Turing. He is not expecting it at all, he's going to be over the moon!

no idea! He's a nightmare to buy for :(

Oh just remembered that ages ago I bought tickets for us him to see Milton Jones in Feb. Where the hell did I put those tickets!?

I'm struggling too and no winter birthday to blame! He used to have a lovely cashmere scarf he wore all the time until the moths chowed down on it, so I might buy him a replacement one, and maybe a boxset of The Inbetweeners - his current favourite programme.

Have no idea, but we were thinking to buy some nice chairs this Christmas.

Someone on MN got their DH a satnav and geocaching book which I thought was a good way to make a boring gift fun, so I'm copying them.

A nice shirt.

Smellies.

Socks and pants.

Tickets to the MotoGP at Silverstone...we went this year all together (though I bought him a weekend pass so he went to see the qualifying). Much cheaper than the GrandPrix tickets - and tbh DH not bothered by Formula 1 but loves the bikes. Next summer should be a great season too...

Only got a couple of rubbish ideas so far this year. My dh's birthday is also November. But last Christmas I got him the best present ever, his favourite full sized slot machine!

I've got him an iPhone 5 on order.

He will love it but he won't be able to use it on Xmas day because of needing to go to the shop and get the sim card changed.

So it might be a rubbish present on the day.

Nothing Grin

We agreed years ago not to buy each other 'surprise' gifts ...... we choose something together for the home or tickets somewhere, case of wine, that sort of thing.

Personally I hate suprises as no one ever gets it quite right and I am fed up with faking gratefulness (ie: for pierced earrings when my ears aren't pierced/racy lingerie which is so not my thing/CDs when I am not into music etc etc) - also I realised I don't really get my DH's taste either - books unread, clothes unworn (& we've been married over 25 years Grin).

My DH is getting his first born right about then. I think that will be enough!

Rhondajean- the shop will probably be able to give you a nano SIM in advance to be activated on the day.

O2 give me mine then you just do it by text. Mine activated straight away but it might take a bit longer if your doing it on Xmas day. Previous to that when I needed a micro SIM for iPhone 4S the lady in the shop activated it there and then for me.

DH celebrates (?) his 50th birthday on December 23rd .
It's always difficult to think of presents for him .
This year I'm getting him a new Laptop ( or iPad ) he can choose .
I'd better start saving !
