What are you doing this year? Or dream decorations?

My dream decorations - saw a life sized white reindeer and baby in heals one year, a couple of hundred each. Evil exp said no Sad I've been on the look out for them since, but can't find them Sad

This year, I think I'm going black white and silver. I've seen some giant oversized baubles that I want hung in the windows and over the dinning table. Trying to make it feel a bit Alice in wonderland.

Love the sound of giant baubles!

My new house is seriously huge, so will need a big tree too. Front door ( new build) has nowhere to hang a wreath.

Supposed to be freecycling my green/gold/red/black decs and doing a new colour scheme

I'd quite like to stick to a colour scheme this year, but DH and the kids tend to push for stick every sodding decoration of every sodding colour we can find a polychromatic approach.

I'm thinking white/silver or pink/orange.

I've always wanted onenof those trains that go round the bottem of the tree, sadly can't afford that this year again, am going to make doorknob hangers in tree shapes this year.

My main theme is purple and silver plus loads and loads of tat plus kids handmade stuff and baubles and stuff I've bought that don't match just because. Going to try more outdoor stuff indoor this year holly and pinecones and greenery!

Viking I have a tree in the DCs room, thats where the mismatched Dec's live, and they go to town on it! And I get full control of the living room! Grin although, I'd love the kids room to be all red and white scandi style Smile

Brandy brought this last year, not the best quality (by a mile!), but it's affordable.

dietcoke Costco have some giant baubles (in a tube) about the size of a small football. Can't recall the colours but not black and white . (Red, green, gold type)

Love the life sized deer though

Sadly it isn't just the kids who want multicoloured, DH is adamant; Christmas must be colourful.

Dietcola thank you for link, but the one I want is wooden and empty carriages to put quality streets in, it needs to light up and play xmas music to. I could thinking about it set up ds train track and just buy train and carriages but it wouldn't be like the one fr the coke advert!

I get to start from scratch this year! I'm sad that all my years of childhood Christmas things are gone but the memories are there and I am excited about starting our own collection. Smile

I am extremely anal about the tree so it will only be lights and different sized baubles, I'm undecided on colour yet.

I am going to make salt dough trees/stockings/gingerbread people to liberally cover in glitter and hang from the dining room archway and window.

I'm not sure what else yet but I know I want it to be over the top and awesome like Christmas was when I was young! Grin

We go for the eclectic look in my house, and I love it! Though I am addicted to buying wreaths and lights.

sittinginthesun where would you put them though? Wink

You can never have too many lights! That's my moto Grin this year I'm buying little mirrors to put inside the branches to fill the gaps near the trunk and double the lights reflecting off them Smile

Oh I live those clay decorations ggirl. my living room is rather formal and all homemade stuff is too at odds but I can get the kids making those as they look a bit like white china Grin

This year we're buying a tree for the playroom for the assorted baubles (asked everyone for one at our Christmas wedding last year) and getting a garland to go up the staircase. The garland will be fake pine but decorated poncily.
