How to reveal trip to Euro disney at christmas.

We are taking our 2 DS 10 and 5 to EuroDisney and Paris for 5 days the day after Boxing day. Want to reveal this on christmas morning.....only 2 sleeps till we go!
Any of you imaginative folk have a fun way of doing the reveal.
Think DS10 may have his suspisions which I don't mind really as bulids up the excitment.
Thought about a treasure hunt with clues leading to the tickets......

A blow up globe with Mouse ears drawn over Paris.

Pull 6 crackers, each with a letter in to spell out Disney.

I was really mean.
On a trip to Paris I apologised and said I really wanted to see an old castle it was just a train trip away it has lots of "interesting" antique furniture.I did say it had a small playground we might be able to visit after

We got on the train at Gare du Nord and luckily the Disney signs are very discrete so thru didn't realise until they were at the top of the escalators at Marne la Valle .

We did this with DDs a few years ago, we just told them we were off to the Science Museum for the day.

We stopped off at St Pancras for breakfast, and DD1 said "Ooh! Look at all those children with Euro Disney bags, do you think they're going?" To which we replied they are and so are you.

Cue complete melt down by DD2 (4 years old), "I want to go to the Science Museum!!!!"

We managed to convince her by the time the train arrived.

It is lovely there at Christmas, snow for the parade, and lighting of the Christmas Tree.

Oh how funny. That's my slight fear that DS 10 will just say ' oh right, thought that was it'. I'd be gutted.

What about treasure hunt leading to tickets, but tickets are in a gold envelope attached to Disney helium balloons which are inside a big box in Xmas wrapping...so when they unwrap the box the balloons float out? You could have fake snow inside the box too...

Oh that video, I can barely type for the tears. My friend did a similar thing and pit the video on fb. She bought princess dresses for her dds and told them they were to wear that day on the plane. It was great seeing their little faces.

I know how you feel happy. We are doing 2 weeks in Animal Kingdom Lodge in Florida next August to celebrate DD finishing chemo. I think I might have to sell a kidney to pay for it.

If you are going at Christmas please make sure you take adequate clothing I ave honestly never been as cold anywhere in my life as dlp in December. I would advise ski suits for the kids as they can tie the top bit around their waist on rides so you don't have to carry coats etc

Ps have a fab time :) you get to see Christmas mickey and Santas in the parade!

My sister did this with her DDs (then 4 and 6 I think). To start with, sis and my BIL had mickey ears on when their DDs came through to wake them up :o

We did this last year. Went out for lunch before we went to the airport and the pudding was Minnie and mickey cupcakes. Kids were asked where they would like to go next and there was the usual suggestions of soft play/park/cinema. They were very excited when we told them they were going to Disney. Ds3 ( then aged nearly 3) was gutted he wasn't gong to soft play.

What about a Disney themed stocking? You can get loads of cheap things from the Disney store.

To be honest it might depend on the child. We're going in a couple of weeks and told DS (5) and DD about a month ago. DS is distinctly underwhelmed by the whole thing. It's just his nature (exactly like DH ) but I was gutted by the lack of excitment.

I, on the other hand, cannot wait and am doing a daily countdown and driving everyone bonkers.

Would you not consider telling them a few weeks before? We are taking the girls to Lapland the week before Xmas and I have told them as the best thing for me is the anticipation and build up! Mine would be overwhelmed if I told them just before and less excited I think?

Rip Let's face it though, we tell everyone that we are doing it for the kids. But really, deep down, it's for us .

On Christmas morning after all the other presents had been opened I gave the dcs a Disney box filled with layers of streamers confetti etc. At the top were xmas beanies of their favourite characters,then a disney calendar with a big red circle with the date we were going ,then an envelope wirh euros in ,disney choc coins and a few other little disney type things and right at the bottom an envelope with a Disney xmas card wiith the tickets inside.
Have to say ds1 did have a total meltdown and cried off and on for most of xmas day but the memory of their faces as it slowly dawned on them that they were going were amazing.
Like you we headed off a couple of days later. I did actually see someone at the station who didnt tell their children until it was time to board the train and that child did cry all the way there so I think a couple of days warning rather than last minute is probably better

I did this for Dd one year. I got her a new suitcase and put some clues inside with some Disney related things wrapped up and then wrapped the whole thing up - it was so fun watching her work it out and a lovely surprise for her!

Ooo liking ideas but can't tell them yet as not going to September they bernmind been asking forever to go to Disney and I told them 2 or 3 years gi ti euro and we have to save hard

But they don't know we're of to Florida next September for 2 weeks ( I made one of those mad promises when dd was in PICU and was told either way that if she got better we go , she never mentioned it ( she was sedated and ventilated } but now going to make good on it

But I'm planning telling Eastwr time as I like then to have the excitement build up of it all . Did think Xmas as it be a lean pile big think 9 months may be to much

We are doing exactly the same thing OP . We are going on the 28th Dec, and I'm more excited about telling them I think! I was going to put a message in a cracker on the dinner table BUT I think I will burst by 2pm. So think I'm going to go with the helium balloon idea, or get them both a Minnie Mouse and tie a small letter to her wrist.
