Different themes in different areas.
I've got white/clear/pearl/silver decorations
Gold/Bronze
Traditional (not glass)
Mixed colour glass baubles for the tree, added to (and broken Sad ) every year.

We move the colour scheme round every year .
But no pink, lime, turquoise 'modern fangled' shades.
And in my house, Christmas trees are green. Only green.

Christmas colour scheme?

What?

I was thinking of letting the children throw random shiny tut at the tree. Is that wrong?

You'd probably be horrified at my tree - anything and everything goes (except tinsle - I do have some standards). A mixture of colour and allsorts of baubles collected from holidays over the years. I absolutely love it.

I've scaled down the other decorations as the dc have gotten older.

Dh wants red and gold, but my living room is green and brown so I want just gold. The next catalogue has some nice gold decs. Need to have a look around for some more.

I just pull out last years decorations and put them up again. But, but, but... as a little sewing practice on my new machine I have made a garland of denim stars from ds's old battered jeans, and put red buttons and little bells on them and was momentarily thinking they looked a bit Christmassy and should I cut up the rest of his jeans and make matching stars for the Christmas trees :o

Red and gold for the past 10 years. I have 2 rooms to decorate this year though, so I'm looking at all of your ideas so I can borrow one Smile

We have red white and green on the tree in the front room and the decorations match.

In the dining room with have silver and teal on tree and all decorations and table settings match.

Would quite like a change this year but don't have the time to redecorate.

I like Traditional. We make most of our decorations so holly from the garden, dried oranges and cinnamon sticks, fircones, paperchains etc. We also do saltdough decorations and ginger cookies. I've been collecting traditional Christmas decorations, particularly Victorian for a couple of years now. I like my house to look like a scene out of Shirley Hughes' Lucy and Tom's Christmas.
