What age do kids start appreciating colouring books?

I need a postable pressie for my friend's daughter age 2. Too old?

Depends on the child. My 4 year old has no interest in colouring. I'd go with a story book instead.

Don't buy colouring books, ever- they are awful for children's creative and artistic development. I think a blank sketchbook and crayons would be better, and great for a 2 year old.

When they're a bit older, the Anti-Colouring Book is great.

Depends whether boy or girl.

DD loved them age 2, still does.
DS would not have coloured age 2. And actually still would probably elect not to aged 5!
