I love my real tree and can smell it all over the house.

It's just that smell , the hassle of choosing it , collecting it , needles in the car and the house , watering it etc etc But nothing can recreate that Christmas smell ( and the sticky hands when you put the baubles on Xmas Grin )

I have said this to DH about 15 times this evening and I think he's getting a bit fed up of me sniffing the air.

We got a real tree today (for the last 17 years we've had an artificial one which is fine) but today we went to the forest and picked our tree. It's lovely!!! and it's all gold and tasteful and beautiful

Sorry, it wasn't meant as a boast - just love having a real tree... And the smell is fab!

We have an artificial but I hanker for a real tree. I go around the garden centres sniffing the trees to get that real smell of Christmas! Next year I am promising myself a real tree Grin

beansandspud - you went to a forest, Envy was it pre cut or did they cut it down for you right there and then when you chose it.

They were pre-cut much to DH's disappointment as he really thought he would be wielding an axe!

Dam i really was hoping that you would walk through a forest of trees and cut down your own ( i watched them on Jon and Kate plus 8 years ago doing just that, America may be a little more slack on their health and safety rules)
