Is that too much?, thats just what we, his parents are giving him.

Yeah not used to kids, £50 from each person isn't that much to me, I'm used to buying people games and DVDs etc but you get a lot of toy for your money, even in this day and age.

So many things at such cheap prices and the make sounds and light up etc too, back in my day I swear the toys cost more.

That's fine I think, if I was me, which I am, I would also have a stocking with little bits and bobs in, mixture of whimsical and useful, I would probably buy some pound shop stuff and pyjamas, slippers (or whatever is needed) and wrap that up too.

I do like a big pile though, although thinking about it 20 months is far too young to give a stuff, so stick with what you have.

There was a link on here to an Argos catalogue from the 80's I think and toys did cost a lot more, I was astounded at the prices, and in awe of my parents managing to scrape enough together to get me bloody anything!

I went crazy on DSs first christmas when he was only 4 months old. I have learnt my lesson. Less is more.

This year he is still getting a few things, but those are 'quality' toys that will last him many years (he is 2 now), such as Duplo, Happyland and puzzles. No more random crap for him, and especially no more TV characters.

I have seen your Waybuloo things. Mine was obsessed with ITNG and Timmy time last year, so he got loads then, but now it is all cluttering up my house and he isn't playing with it as he lost interest. Will ebay them soon.

I'd be looking at books and cds (of nursery rhymes) and jigsaws, too. Have you been into the Early Learning Centre?
