Present suggestions for a 10yr old girl and a 13yr old boy

What can you tell us about them?

I have a 10 year old dd and she would love:

Paper Fashion from Klutz
Stationary from Paper Chase
Clothes
Decopatch stuff from Hobbycraft
Great books eg "First Aid for Fairies" and "Wolf Notes" by Lari Don (not as twee as it sounds) or His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman or The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.

She is also very interested in jewellery now so maybe a lovely bracelet or pendant.

I willl ask DP for some more info (they are from his family but he is not on MN so I have to do the asking :) ).

Girl is a girly girl but I don't want to get anything too pink or makeupy. Last year we got her a friendship-bracelet-making kit/book.

Boy likes Dr Who and likes reading. Last year we got him a science fiction book that I like (not sure if it is technically Young Adult or a grownup book, and not sure if he read it).

We only see them a handful of times a year so unfortunately don't know them very well.

If the boy likes science fiction how about Ray Bradbury short stories Volume 1 and/or 2. They are really aimed at adults but there is nothing inappropriate in there and they are really thought provoking.

My DS is 12 and he likes those Goosebumps books.He went through loads of them in the summer holidays.
DD is 9 and she is into jewellry, nail varnish, bath things (?Lush), Diary of a Wimpy Kid books,

The Body Shop currently have bags of scented soaps shaped like fruit or animals. My dd eyed them up. Sadly she is allergic to nearly all soaps so she won't be getting them but they clearly appealed.

She would love bath bombs too so Lush is a great suggestion.

How "posh" are they? My dd recently got an all in one pair of pjs from Primark. There are fleecy ones with zips and feet or cotton ones with buttons and no feet. She has the cotton one with no feet and she LOVES them. I think it was £6 so room for a bath bomb too

Would the boy be interested in a Cineworld card? Up here £10 would buy a ticket and a snack. He could see a Sci Fi film with a friend.

Cineworld card is a good idea, would have to check where the nearest cinema is and what brand it is.

Someone suggested a prepaid coffee shop card (don't know if its Starbucks or Costa Coffee) for a teenager so that they can sit and have a drink with friends.
I suppose you swipe it and it deducts the value of the coffee- like the school canteen cards.

Trills I have just been browsing through The Book People catalogue and they have a set of Dr Who novels, aimed at age 11 and upwards, for £6.99 (should be £29.99) I wonder if it would be of interest to the boy you mentioned?

I think he might already have quite a lot of the Dr Who novels, otherwise that would be a great bargain.
