I want to make my own pickles and preseves this christmas, can anyone recommend anywhere that sells fairly inexpensive-but-still-quite-nice jars?

Thank you

Look for that nice French jam with the checked lids. Enjoy expensive jam, reuse jarsSmile.
They are pretty shaped jars, not too big and lovely wide necks. Very easy to refill.

Ask on freecycle as well - most people recycle glass now but re-using is always better! We've just given DP's mum a load of our glass which was saving up for recycling and got various jars and bottles back of sauces and chutneys (including a tomato sauce in a disaronno bottle Grin)

Do you know anyone who has Douwe Egberts coffee ? their jars are lovely and I've always thought would make a good presentation jar for homemade stuff as they have a push down type lid.

I used to save all ours as couldn't bear to throw then away, but now have the refill bags

I usually reuse jam jars, but I have bought some from here in the past. They have a lovely range and could work out very reasonably priced if you were able to share a larger quantity with someone else.

Yep I use Douwe Egbert jars for it, I love the coffee too which helps, they are good cos of the type of lid on them but also look really nice when refilled.

I also do the Nigella thing of running them through the dishwasher to sterilise, easy as pie.
