When she was 2, what DD1 wanted more than anything in the world was a dustpan and brush and a mini hoover. Blush The only kiddy dustpan I could find was actuially in a Pound Shop. So it wasn't an expensive Christmas!

DD2 had a fairy dress.

I know it isn't very PC, but my toddler daughter loves dollys and prams. She loves taking 'baby' for a walk etc, and putting them to bed.

At the minute she is also really into Peppa Pig and large floor puzzles- both of which are on our list for this year- although she is a few months older. She loves drawing/ painting too.

Last year I bought a ball pool for my DD and 4 bags of balls - from Argos (whole lot came to about £20). Lots of fun! This year DD will be just over 2 and I am intending on getting her a kitchen from ELC, Happyland stuff (some of it is half price now) and some Wheelies cars, a Leapfrog alphabet pal, some of her own wooden building blocks, aquadoodle (travel one). Some of this may end up being for her birthday - last year I bought her about half again more than DS and then split the presents between the 2 occasions when I have them all!
When DS was that age, thinking back, his big present was the Little Tykes piano (from 2+) with a stool that you could bounce up and down on and it made drum noises!

I second the Happyland! If you get the town stuff then family etc can add to it too - it's great. Buy on ebay if you don't mind second hand, it lasts for years, and you can get the road and bases for the sets, which they don't do any more (but new stuff compatible)

The happyland mat which zips up into a box is invaluable!

My DD1 was 22mth last Christmas. She had a kitchen, pans & food etc from GPs and Happyland starter set (which came in the box and has the house, cafe and tons of people and cars) from us. Other people bought bits to go with those 2 main presents.

Wheelybugs are fab but ours got most use between 1&2. Scooters and bikes seem more popular at 2.5+
