There's the Festive Season, and then there's the Festive Season Thread. And the FST can't be far off can it?

It's just that I'm, y'know, in need of a Christmas spreadsheet template, advice on present buying, suggestions on using up the last of the sales, jam recipes for hampers, canape recipes to try out before the big day, and...... You get the picture.

OK, I admit it, I just love Christmas and want to talk about it.

Lurker, not a poster here- tho' I nicked loads of great ideas from that thread last year. BUT I saw, elsewhere, when someone was asking about Sarah Raven, think in Christmas topic, that Fellatio N is moving/has moved abroad- Dubai? so won't be doing full poncetastic Christmas this year. Obvs hope it is just hearsay and thirdhand at that, but wondering where to get inspiration for ginger salt dough etc. etc.
Still, at least weather in London is doing its wintry best...

Ooohhhhhh I can't wait! This will be my 1st proper English christmas. I was here for the last 1 but only 2 weeks before so not really properly. Hope it's a very white christmas. Looking forward to doing all the traditional preparations. A christmas thread can not start soon enough for me. I'll want lots of help and advise. Especially regarding shopping.

Mardy, A good christmas cake needs a lot of soaking if you want it to reek of brandy be moist and blackberry vodka takes 3 months to mature so I have to start now

no, my grandfather used to make elderflower wine, it was delicious.
